Hello Caswell:
Happy February. We look forward to a prosperous 2021 and to servicing our business community here in Caswell. When there is enough content for two separate newsletters in a month, there will be a separate CHAMBER Matters and a CASWELL Matters as in the past. In months when there is not ample content for two, there will be a combined newsletter similar to this one that will go out mid month.
As always, we welcome your input, announcements and content.
Please forward to us as soon as you have it and we will include it as best we can.
Thank you for your ongoing support!

Chamber Service Spotlight
|
A Communications Connector
The Caswell County Chamber of Commerce is here to be of service to the business and overall community. Each month a different service will be highlighted in this section to outline the different ways the Chamber hopes to assist the business community.
This month the focus is on being a 'Communications Connector'. Our goal is to keep our membership as well as the community overall as connected as possible through our different methods of outreach.
Each month this email newsletter serves as a way to connect the community. With it we hope to update you on events and news that are specific to our county.
In addition, a traditional printed newsletter is mailed to the community several times each year. If you want a mailed copy, please email your address.
The Chamber also works to share updates on businesses through articles printed in The Caswell Messenger. If you would like to have your business or organization highlighted, please let us know.
If you have other ideas, or suggestions, please contact us.

In Recognition of Black History Month
In this month of February recognizing the contributions of the black community to the business world cannot go unnoticed.
Caller Id, traffic lights, automatic elevator doors....just a few of the inventions that the world enjoys thanks to the creativity and innovation from African Americans.
Here is a great article that provides a summary of some of the impacts made.
|
|
Closer to home...
See the movie trailer below of prominent African Americans here in Caswell. A documentary film on their lives was developed by several members of the community, Spearheaded by Karen Williamson of the Caswell Council of the Arts, along with Fred Motley. The story was also presented as 'Caswell History Speaks' in a live presentation in 2019.

More Cheese, Please...
That is what I heard the person on the other end of the phone say when I called to order pizza for takeout. Pizza is all about the cheese for me so I always ask for extra. But I was calling Aunt Millie’s Pizza Subs and Suds and if you are not familiar with them…well let’s just say, they ‘own it’ when it comes to cheese on your pizza.

Farmer's Market 2021
It's time to start planning for this year's market! Since it's not yet safe for us to meet in person, the business we usually address at the annual vendors' meeting will be addressed via emails.
Like last year, CCLFC will not erect the big white tent and vendors will provide their own. We will follow CDC recommendations, whatever they are during the market season. To participate or for more information contact us.

Thank you to our 2021 sponsors!
