2020 Virtual SBIR Road Tour
All faculty and industry researchers are encouraged to participate in the 2020 Virtual SBIR Road Tour.

The 2020 SBIR Weeks are virtual events and part of a national outreach efforts connecting entrepreneurs working on advanced technologies to the country’s largest source of early stage funding – the SBIR/STTR programs. Also known as America’s Seed Fund, the SBIR/STTR programs provide over $3.7 billion in funding to small businesses each year in a wide variety of technology areas. Each virtual event, hosted by a local organization, will provide registrants with an opportunity to hear directly from the participating federal agency program managers that administer over 5,500 new awards annually and to meet one-on-one with program decision makers.
On August 25, 2020, MSRDC and SBA presented a webinar on the basics of SBIR/STTR programs and provided insight on how to maximize your one-on-one meetings with federal agency PMs.
Communities of Practice
MSRDC encourages your participation in building Communities of Practice (CoP) to cultivate research ideas to secure federal research dollars. The goals of the CoP are to group experts to create an environment for collaboration, bring research ideas from/to federal agencies’ PMs and create relationships that will be leveraged for funding through MSRDC’s unique funding vehicle, and create working groups in sub-areas of research within the topic at the guidance of MSRDC and the agency PM.

If you are an expert in one or both CoP fields below, this is an opportunity for you to get involved in a dynamic group at the forefront of your field with the goal of securing federal funding. MSRDC will select researchers’ capabilities most aligned with the government research needs. Submit your interest and capabilities for one or both Communities of Practice:
  • Nanoenergetic Materials for Micro-Scale Tactical Applications - Submit your capabilities by September 21, 2020.
  • Biologically Enhanced Human Performance - Submit your capabilities by September 21, 2020.
