MILES FOR SMILES
5K FUN RUN/WALK
The Minnesota State University, Mankato senior dental hygiene class is hosting its 6th annual "Miles for Smiles" 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, October 5th, 2019.

The event is a fundraiser for students in the senior dental hygiene class to conduct a service project in Belize, providing complimentary dental work for those in need.  

VAPING ON CAMPUS

Student vaping on campuses across America has been in the newspaper a lot recently. Due to the enormous amount of injuries to the lungs and even some leading to death. According to a student survey conducted last spring, 33% of surveyed have used electronic vapor products.

Last week, the campus community responded as the Minnesota State Mankato Student Government accepted a food drive challenge from Winona State. Find out how badly the campus "crushed" the competition in a contest where the Campus Cupboard came out the big winner!

HEALTHY EATING SPOTS ON CAMPUS
Lizzie Rummel, the new campus dietitian, gives insight into the healthy meal options on campus. Healthy meal options can be found in the university dining center, the centennial student union, and select academic buildings.

DEPRESSION SCREENING
FAST, FREE, CONFIDENTIAL
The Counseling Center is offering Depression Screenings on the morning of Friday, Oct. 11.This is an opportunity for students to complete a written screening questionnaire and discuss the questionnaire and their results with a mental health professional. Screenings are anonymous, confidential, and FREE. 

HEALTHY MAVS COALITION
UNDERAGE DRINKING DISCUSSED
Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Healthy Mavericks Alcohol and Drug Prevention Coalition is holding a town hall meeting and panel discussion on how students can lower their risks of consequences that result from underage drinking.Thursday, Oct. 3 from 3-4 p.m. in Ostrander Auditorium, located in the University’s Centennial Student Union.
