Welcome New Member Lilly Lights the Way
Join us as we welcome new member Lilly Lights the Way.
Lilly Lights the Way
is a foundation that serves as a leading source of family support for children with cancer. The foundation provides emotional and financial assistance to allow families to focus on spending precious, quality time with their children. No family fights alone, so they hope they can help these families live, laugh, and love like their angel, Lilly.
Lilly Lights the Way honors the memory of Lilly Toxavidis, a 13-year-old girl from Attleboro, Massachusetts. Lilly was diagnosed with non-hodgkin's lymphoma in November of 2017. After a year and a half of intense chemotherapy treatment, Lilly was diagnosed with a secondary cancer, acute myeloid leukemia. This diagnosis required an urgent bone marrow transplant. She received her transplant in August of 2019 and battled many complications related to this procedure. Lilly courageously passed away this past October after a valiant fight.
Her innate kindness, strength, and bravery inspired everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. The foundation's goal is to spread her name in "lights" and bring happiness to other families who may be on a similar cancer journey.
Visit their
website
to learn about the events that they have coming up this year. They tell us that we should all "love like Lilly."
And their next event is on Saturday, April 4. Take a look at the flyer in our Member News section.

We Mobbed Evviva Trattoria
Last Thursday for Lunch
Evviva Trattoria
15 K Ledgeview Way
Wrentham
|
Here we are enjoying our meals.
|
|
Last Thursday, we "mobbed" Evviva Trattoria. More than 20 people can be considered a mob. But we were a very passive mob.
We had a separate room just for us. Take a look at the pictures. We really enjoyed our meals.
The kind folks at Evviva Trattoria created a dish just for us -- a Chamber Chicken Caesar Wrap.
General Manager, Nick Moniz, talked about the restaurant and how they pride themselves on serving fresh ingredients. He also presented us with a complimentary plate of beautiful cannolis. And a pizza for us to try. He really knows how to keep his customers happy!
President Jack Lank and Board members Zach Patten, Josh Vanada, Charlie Miller, Mike Litzenberger, Joe Monteiro, and Rebecca Marshall-Howarth attended along with Ambassadors Jason Hawkes, Jennifer Powell, and Mario Tardiff.
And we saw some new faces. Joe Monteiro brought two colleagues from Webster Bank and Rick Medeiros brought one of his colleagues from the Pawtucket Red Sox.
This was our first Lunch Mob and it was a success We are going to schedule additional like this because it is a delicious way to meet with other chamber members.

Our Golf Tournament Has Been Scheduled
Save the Date June 15
This year, we will be hosting our 34
th
annual golf tournament. For the past several years, Norton Country Club has been the venue for the tournament. They have been great to us and we are pleased that they will be hosting our event again.
Proceeds from this event benefit the educational programs and initiatives that the chamber facilitates each year, including the Spotlight on Education Breakfast which recognizes the top ten seniors and unsung heroes from the 16 communities that the chamber represents.
And we are looking for volunteers and sponsors. Please contact us at the chamber if you would like to be on the Golf Tournament committee, would like to volunteer the day of the event, or if you and your company would like to be one of our sponsors.

STURDY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL OFFERING PRENATAL EXERCISE TO EXPECTANT MOTHERS
The Wellness Exercise Program at Sturdy Memorial Hospital offers prenatal exercise to expectant mothers. Exercise during pregnancy can help ease some of the common discomforts women experience during pregnancy.
According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), exercising while pregnant can help reduce backaches, may decrease risk of gestational diabetes, and promotes healthy weight gain during pregnancy. In addition, exercising while pregnant can help to improve endurance and strength, preparing you for labor and delivery.
Sturdy’s Prenatal Exercise Program is a 16- session program that includes resistance and aerobic training, pelvic floor strengthening exercises, as well as education about prenatal health and wellness.
Grants are available to those who qualify.
Our exercise physiologists are medically trained and will monitor you during your workouts to help you stay healthy and active during your pregnancy. For more information or to register, please call
