Celebrating 10 Years of Growth, Empowerment & Community!
Congratulations to The Black Business Alliance (BBA) on its 10th anniversary and the grand reopening of its new headquarters at Connecticut Post Mall in Milford!
More than 60 guests joined the celebration, including U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, Milford Mayor Richard Smith, local business leaders, and representatives from the Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce.
For a decade, the BBA has been dedicated to supporting Black-owned businesses, fostering entrepreneurship, and creating economic opportunities throughout Connecticut.

Moving Mountains, Changing Lives: A Community's Commitment to Hope
I’ve written about homelessness before, and I’ve shared how my experiences volunteering at the Beth-El Center have changed the way I see our community and the challenges facing some of our most vulnerable neighbors.
But I’ve never been more hopeful about what we can accomplish together than I am today when I had the privilege of attending the groundbreaking celebration for Beth-El Center’s new home, a state-of-the-art facility that promises to be among the finest of its kind, not just in our region, but well beyond.
It was a remarkable day. And while the occasion included the usual speeches, congratulations, and ceremonial shovels, what struck me most was something far more meaningful.
This is what happens when a community decides that looking after one another isn’t simply someone else’s responsibility.

WHEAT 2nd Annual Buoy Tree Fundraiser
For over 50 years, WHEAT has been ensuring everyone in our community has enough to eat. What started in 1975 as a small pantry in West Haven has grown into a cornerstone in the fight against hunger across New Haven, Fairfield, and Hartford Counties.
You can help provide food for our neighbors this holiday season when you purchase and decorate a buoy during WHEAT's 2nd Annual Buoy Tree Fundraiser. And, your artistic creation will be part of the holiday decorations adorning the West Haven green.
