Yesterday we collected $1266 in donations for Souper Bowl of Caring, plus lots of toilet paper and food donations. All of the donations will go to Nourish Up, one of our local hunger minstry partners. Thank you to everyone who donated!


And thank you to the Scouts and youth who helped collect the donations.

Catherine Bragg's car was packed with 55 rolls of scotch tape, 631 pencils, 900 sheet protectors, 175 sharpies, 68 expo markers, and a gazillion pens! Thanks to everyone for your donations and thanks to Catherine Bragg for making the delivery to Blythe!

Youth Ministry Weekend. Thank you to our youth group leaders for our middle school and high school lock-ins this weekend. Friday night's leaders were Emily Duncan, William Lee, and Elyse Stevenson. Saturday's were Peri Beatty, Riley Beatty, William Lee and Matt Zold.


Thank you, as well, to the middle school students who prepared and served breakfast for our Room in the Inn Guests on Saturday. Egg casseroles, no less! Thank you, also, to the high school students for decorating Souper Bowl of Caring pots and collecting donations on Sunday.

Black (Presbyterian) History Month Spotlight Thelma Davidson Adair was born in Iron Station, North Carolina in 1920. After attending Barber Scotia College and Bennett College, she eventually settled in New York with her husband. While living in New York, she earned her Ph.D. in education and eventually became a professor at Queens College, University of the City of New York. In 1976, she was as the first black woman elected as the Moderator of the General Assembly of the United Presbyterian Church. She passed away this last August at the age of 103. Caregiving for an adult family member is an ongoing gift of love and service that is challenging physically, emotionally and financially. This program for caregivers of dependent adults will share supportive information and community resources. It is hosted by DCPC’s Mental Health Matters and Stephen Ministry and will meet on Sundays at 9:45 in the Parlor and on Zoom.

Grief Group Begins Tonight Our spring 2025 grief group starts this Monday. The six week group is from 7-8 p.m., Mondays, from this Monday February 10 through March 17th.

Guns 2 Gardens Safe-Surrender Event Coming

DCPC's Social Justice Committee is working with several area faith communities to host a safe-surrender event for those who have unwanted guns in their homes. The event will be held at Gethsemane Baptist Church on Monday, February 17th. We need a variety of helpers for the day. Pancake Dinner The Fellowship Committe invites you to a pancake supper on Wednesday March 5th. The Cost is $10 per adult, $5 per child, $25 family maximum. The buffet line opens at 5:45 and we conclude dinner by 6:30 p.m. with a benediction. You can register for the pancake dinner here.


Ash Wednesday Service Our Lent begins at 7:00 p.m. in Lingle Chapel with an Ash Wednesday service. The service will be live-streamed.

We are excited that DCPC has a regular monthly date to serve at Angels and Sparrows Community Table! We are scheduled for the first Tuesday of each month. We are responsible for providing seven volunteers. We partner with Roof Above in Charlotte to host 10 guests every Friday night in the Congregation House. We pick them up in Charlotte and bring them back to a home-cooked meal, warm beds, laundry, breakfast, and a bag lunch. All this plus warm hospitality provided by our members is intended to make for a peaceful night of rest and renewal for our guests.
