Still struggling with Depression?

Rittenhouse now offers a breakthrough treatment that is covered by Insurance

Most people think depression is just sadness. It's not. It's a brain chemistry problem — not a mindset problem — and no amount of willpower can simply override it. That's exactly why so many people try medication after medication and still don't feel better. If that sounds familiar, you're not broken. You just haven't found the right option yet.

When Your Medication Isn't Working:
Treatment-Resistant Depression

For those who have tried one or two antidepressants without meaningful relief, there's a clinical term for what you're experiencing: Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD). It's more common than most people realize, but that doesn't mean nothing will work. It means the standard options haven't been the right fit, and it's time to explore what else is available and SPRAVATO® is covered by insurance.

SPRAVATO® (esketamine) is an FDA-approved nasal spray, Covered by Insurance, specifically indicated for Treatment-Resistant Depression. Unlike traditional antidepressants, it works on different neural pathways in the brain and has shown meaningful results for people who haven't responded to other medications.

Another option worth exploring is IV ketamine therapy — our partners at Better Health Whole Wellness Center specialize in this innovative treatment, also shown to work on neural pathways that standard antidepressants don't reach.

After an initial consult with Psychiatric NP Kait McDermott, a physical exam at Rittenhouse Women's Wellness Center will be required before beginning either treatment — so your journey starts right here.

5 Ways to Prioritize Your Wellness This March

The days are getting a little longer, and March has a way of making us pause — not quite winter, not yet spring. It's the perfect time to check in with yourself. As we move through Women's History Month, honoring the women who came before us starts with honoring ourselves. Here are 5 simple ways to show up for yourself this month:

1. Schedule that appointment you've been putting off. Whether it's your annual physical or a conversation you've been delaying. Preventive care is empowering, not reactive.

2. Rethink what rest really means. Giving yourself permission to let go of something — a commitment, a habit, the pressure to do it all — is one of the most powerful things you can do.

3. Move in a way that feels good. A walk, a yoga class, dancing in your kitchen —movement doesn't have to be punishing to be powerful.

4. Audit your stress, not just your diet. Chronic stress affects hormones, immunity, and heart health. Journaling, therapy, or simply talking to someone you trust can make a real difference.

5. Connect with other women. Community is medicine. Meaningful connection reduces stress, boosts mood, and reminds us we're not doing this alone.
