SAGE Welcomes New Members to Board of Trustees

SAGE Eldercare welcomes the addition of Dr. Allen Khademi and Patricia Daquila to its Board of Trustees. SAGE also recognizes Trustees Claire Toth and Sue Luehs for their contributions during their now completed terms. “We are pleased to announce that Allen and Patricia are joining the Board of SAGE Eldercare. Their respective medical knowledge, business experience, and combined community engagement will be an asset to SAGE’s mission to provide a comprehensive array of programs and services for older adults and caregivers, promoting independence and quality of life.” said Leslie Hardin, Board President of SAGE Eldercare “We remain forever grateful to Claire Toth and Sue Luehs for their contributions and support of our mission.”

Patricia Daquila of New Providence is a Managing Director and Senior Wealth Planner with Peapack Private Wealth Management. Pat is a CPA and has extensive accounting experience at Levinson, Schwartz & Co, and KPMG. She serves on the board of the Community Organization in New Providence. Pat earned an MBA is in finance at Rutgers University, and a BS in Business Administration from Montclair University.

Dr. Allen M. Khademi of Summit is currently Vice President of Medical Affairs at Christian Health Care Center in Wycoff, where he specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitative Services. He was previously the Medical Director of Rehabilitative Services, Post-Acute Care Services and Care Transitions at the Summit Medical Group (aka Summit Health). He earned his MD from Georgetown University, and his BA in Biology at Rutgers University.

SPOTLIGHT: Katie Kovar helping families navigate the vast array of resources available

We would like to shed a spotlight on Kaitlyn (Katie) Kovar, a licensed social worker (LSW) at SAGE Eldercare. Katie is a true Hilltopper being that she is born and raised in Summit. Although Katie’s role at SAGE is being a social worker, she also engages in community outreach. Her goal is to make people feel more comfortable speaking about aging and supporting individuals and families through that process. One of Katie’s key roles is to help families navigate the vast array of community and healthcare resources available to them. She understands that finding the right services and programs can be overwhelming, so she guides individuals through the process, ensuring they receive the appropriate care and support to the best of her ability. SAGE Charity Gala to be held Thursday October 26 at Baltusrol Golf Club

This is our annual fundraiser to support SAGE programming for seniors. Only 70-80% of client clinical care costs are reimbursed by insurance or government funding. The gap is covered by the gracious support of community minded individuals and grant funding.

We are inviting the public to visit with our clients at SAGE Spend-A-Day center. You will get to interact with them, participate in the day's programming of exercises, games and entertainment, and assist with meals.
