Nov. 3 at all three services—7:45, 8:45 and 11:00 a.m.
This Sunday, Nov. 3, we will celebrate and have two special blessings: one for the annual pledge cards that have been received, and another to commission the Discernment Committee . The Vestry recently selected a Discernment Committee to lead the search for a new Rector. The committee will be officially commissioned on Sunday, Nov. 3 at all three services. Their work begins with The Rev. Sarah Brockenbrough, Transition Minister for the Diocese of Virginia, in early November. Please join us in prayerful support for the committee as the church moves forward.
This Friday is the Youth Lock-In
GHTC’s Youth group will be having a lock-in on Nov. 1. Folks can be dropped off for dinner, they’ll head out to play laser tag, then come back to bake some cookies, play games, and more. Anyone who needs to opt-out of staying overnight can be picked up at 10:00 p.m., and in the morning all who stay will head to Duck Doughnuts at the Altria to wrap things up for pickup around 9:30 a.m. Please feel free to bring a friend! If you or your family have any questions contact Neely Dykshorn .

Children’s Chapel Sign Ups Through 11/24
Parents, please take a moment to sign your child or yourself up for a role in our Children’s Chapel program. Our Children’s Chapel is designed to have a variety of roles available for kids to get involved in the liturgy by reading Scripture, helping tell the story of the day, and more! We need kids to fill these roles and parents to help things run smoothly each week. On the remaining two Sundays of Interim Events, 11/3 and 11/17, there will be a children’s homily at the 8:45 a.m. service in the parish hall.  If you have any questions, just contact Aaron Davis .
Email Phishing Scams
If you receive an email asking you to buy gift cards or contact Rev. Bill Queen or Rev. Kim Reinholz immediately, be aware—you may be seeing a phishing attack. No one at the church will ever ask you to spend money for them. Cyber criminals set up fake email accounts to trick unsuspecting individuals into sharing financial information or purchasing gift cards. If you receive a suspect email (from an account other than ones ending in be sure to let church staff know. Do not respond to such an email. Imposters will try to make the message seem real but do not have access to email that ends in, which is the church’s email server.
