Greetings, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Youth Healing to Wellness Courts & Tribal Youth Program Grantees:

Welcome to the Tribal Youth Justice Resource Center (TYJRC)!

We are honored to serve as the training and technical assistance (TTA) center for OJJDP’s Alaska Youth Healing to Wellness Courts (YHWC) and Tribal Youth (TY) Program grantees. The TYJRC, www.TribalYouth.org, is funded under an OJJDP cooperative agreement, along with our partner, the National Native Children’s Trauma Center (NNCTC), to provide TTA that increases Tribal communities’ skills and knowledge related to implementing OJJDP-funded YHWC and TY programs.

By October 5, each AK YHWC and TY grantee will be contacted by a TYJRC technical assistance specialist who is well-versed in YHWC and TY programs and strategies. They will introduce themselves and offer TTA support on a biweekly basis to build capacity in developing effective and sustainable programs focused on reducing youth delinquency and increasing youth potential to thrive in their communities.

We are committed to working with you to change and enhance the narrative for Alaska Native youth by providing the following TTA to Alaska Native YHWC and TY programs:

  • Tribally grounded and tailored training and technical assistance

  • Work in partnership with OJJDP to meet the unique programmatic needs of OJJDP Alaska YHWC and TY grantees

  • Support access to community-driven evidence-based practices and practice-based evidence strategies, tools, and implementation approaches

  • Support peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and learning among Alaska Tribes, villages, and communities implementing similar work

Most importantly, we look forward to learning from you and building relationships with you and your community.

If you are an AK Youth Healing to Wellness Court grantee and need technical assistance before October 5, please contact Andee Dickerson at andee@tlpi.org. If you are an AK Tribal Youth Program grantee and need technical assistance before October 5, please contact Haley Henscheid at haley@tlpi.org.

Respectfully,

Stephanie Autumn

TYJRC Director
