Join us in welcoming the newest Office of Sponsored Programs team member, Ann Muchina, Electronic Research Administration Senior Business Analyst. Ann will support the development, implementation and maintenance of Cayuse, provide Cayuse user training guides, and provide ongoing Cayuse support for the Office of Sponsored Programs.
A note from Ann: It's a pleasure to meet you (via the Weekly) and to be part of the UNLV team. I am new to research/grants; so if you say something and I look like a deer caught in headlights, that is the reason. In my past life, I worked with UNLV's biggest rival (UNR). My background is in healthcare IT, but I am ready for this new Cayuse challenge. I cannot wait to work and learn from each one of you. Feel free to share your tips and tricks with me. Agricultural Export Market Challenge - 2023 |
|
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is excited to offer an experiential learning opportunity to junior and senior year undergraduate students attending a minority-serving educational institution.
FAS and HACU are looking for leaders and faculty from minority-serving institutions to serve as team sponsors/mentors for the USDA-FAS Agricultural Export Market Challenge. The Challenge is an important piece of FAS’ efforts to engage with diverse students and faculty and attract underrepresented talent to careers in international agriculture. The winning team will have the opportunity to travel to Washington, DC to meet FAS leadership!
About the Challenge: The Agricultural Export Market Challenge (the Challenge) is an immersive learning experience using the case study method and role playing to simulate the work that FAS subject matter experts perform every day to increase export opportunities for U.S. food and agricultural products. The simulation will help students accrue knowledge and skills across the disciplines of economics, diplomacy, scientific analysis, marketing and trade policy.
Deadline to Apply: The deadline to submit applications for participation is December 2, 2022. The expression of interest must be submitted via the online form.

GTO Seeks Merit Reviewers |

The Geothermal Technologies Office (GTO) research, development, and deployment portfolio continues to grow—and, with it, our need for merit reviewers for our funding opportunities and laboratory calls. We are currently seeking reviewers for our Community Geothermal Heating and Cooling Design and Deployment funding opportunity, but also welcome experts from across the geothermal spectrum for future reviews.
Who can get involved?
- All sectors welcome (academia, industry, nonprofits, government)
- Broad range of expertise needed, including:
- Geothermal, oil and gas, mining, HVAC sectors
- District-scale heating and cooling systems; direct use (needed immediately)
- Geosciences, geophysics, geochemistry, geomechanics
