Announcing Brent Meredith
Join us in welcoming the newest Office of Sponsored Programs team member, Brent Meredith, Pre Award Research Administrator. Brent will be working with the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering.

Brent comes to UNLV with over ten years of research administration experience that includes work on both the pre-award and post-award sides of the house. Brent’s prior experience includes A/R billing and grants management at California State University, Long Beach, pre-award administration at South Dakota State University, and pre/post award administration at the University of California, Irvine. Brent has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Welcome Brent we are excited to have you on the OSP team!
Deadline for State Grants Ending 6/30/23
The deadline to process PCard transactions, journals, accounting adjustments, travel requisitions, and PAAs is June 15, 2023 so that Sponsored Programs has sufficient time to process the final invoice after July 10, 2023 when the classified payroll posts. Any expense that posts after July 10, 2023 must be moved off the grant and in accordance with the deadlines noted.

FY24-FY26 F&A Rates
  • Organized Research 51.00% (FY24 & FY25) & 51.50% (FY26)
  • Instruction 49.00% (FY24-FY26)
  • Other Sponsored 36.50% (FY24-FY26)

Note, the Off-Campus Definition has been updated and is well defined. "The off-campus rate will apply for all activities: a) Performed in facilities not owned by the institution and where these facility costs are not included in the F&A pools; or b) Where rent is directly allocated/charged to the project(s). Grants or contracts will not be subject to more than one F&A cost rate. If more than 50% of a project is performed off-campus, the off -campus rate will apply to the entire project."

NSF Website Updates
The U.S. National Science Foundation recently rolled out significant updates to their website intended to make it easier for you to find the information you're interested in.

Here's what has changed:
  • NSF's new website, previously called beta.nsf.gov, is now new.nsf.gov.
  • Updated homepage and site navigation to better connect you to the information you care about.
  • Updated our pages for funding seekers and awardees to provide clearer guidance.
  • Created new "Focus Area" landing pages that showcase some of our funding priorities.
