Kathy Barbeau
Financial Research Accountant
|
Kathy will be working with Chemistry & Biochemistry, Physics & Astronomy, Dental Medicine, Public Health, Office of the President, Libraries and Hospitality.
Kathy has over thirty-five years of experience in accounting. In those thirty-five years, Kathy spent seventeen years in post award and grant administration at St Louis University. Kathy has worked regularly with faculty and staff analyzing financial data for federal, foundational, local, private industry, and state sponsors.
Kathy's last role at Roseman University of Health Sciences, she worked as the Business Procurement - Project Manager. In her role, she coordinated projects within the Business and Finance Unit and provided management for purchase orders, supplies and corporate credit cards. As a new Las Vegas resident, Kathy's love for grant administration led her to UNLV.

Derek Le
Grants and Contracts Research Administrator
|
Derek Le is a Research Administrator with over 3 years of Post-Award Research Administration experience. Derek spent over 2 years at the San Diego State University Research Foundation where he managed various types of grants and worked with various types of sponsors, such as NIH, NSF, NASA, DOD, USDA, American Cancer Society, etc.
After SDSU, Derek moved into a more specialized role at La Jolla Institute for Immunology where he managed NIH grants and other public health grants.
Derek received a B.S. degree in Economics and Finance from the University of California, San Diego and is currently working on his Certified Research Administration credential.

Yashia Marshall
Pre Award Research Administrator
|
Yashia will be working with the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine, Office of the President and the College of Education.
Yashia brings 11 years of professional experience and knowledge from various jobs within the public sectors (3 with the federal government, 2 with a nonprofit, and 6 years with state government-Clemson). In her last role with Clemson University, she served as a Grants Coordinator where she gained 6 years of experience in Pre-Award (Research Administration). She earned her Master’s in Public Administration from Clemson University. She believes that earning her M.P.A. has provided a better understanding for the public sector and why it is so important. Yashia is looking to further develop the skills and knowledge gained from her professional experiences and apply those skills to her current role as a Research Administrator with UNLV. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and she plans to use her experiences and membership to continue promoting service, leadership, equality, and equity.

OSP is excited to announce that we have almost filled all of the vacant positions, just a few more to go, and with new hires and expertise added to the OSP team we have assigned the College/Department Assignments. Please note the changes below for your Pre award and Post Award Financial OSP assignments. The Grants and Contracts assignments will be assigned later this month and announced at that time.
