Pickleball with a Purpose: Playing for a Cure
The Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Complex is proud to partner with Stop Alzheimer’s Now (SAN), an Austin, Texas–based nonprofit dedicated to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Together with the pickleball community, SAN brings players together to raise awareness and fund research—and the annual Steamboat Open is an important part of that effort.
This year’s Steamboat Open Charity Pickleball Tournament, held June 5–7, welcomed more than 200 registered players and raised an incredible $115,000! With 100% of player registration fees and funds raised going directly to cure-focused Alzheimer’s research, every player and donor helped make a difference.
SAN founders Shaun and Kristin McDuffee built the foundation around a clear mission: direct every dollar raised to research institutions and scientists working to find a cure.
For many of us, this cause is deeply personal. Alzheimer’s touches our families, friends, and neighbors. Behind every diagnosis are people we love and caregivers who give so much of themselves.
Thank you to every player, donor, volunteer, and supporter who helped turn a weekend of pickleball into hope for families affected by Alzheimer’s.
That’s why we support this fight.
