Happy July to One & All!

Hi All!

We hope you all had a happy, safe and fun Independence Day! After several years of social distancing it was nice to open up a little, connect and celebrate once again!

We have welcomed lots of new changes to the Center! We are extending a warm welcome to our new Executive Director, Angela Fochesato who has been hired as the new executive director of the Beth Wright Cancer Resource Center. Angela brings lots of experience with her that is perfectly suited to the mission of the Center.

As we welcome Angela, we say thank you to long-standing executive director, Michael Reisman after 18 years of service. We wish Michael and his family much happiness and best wishes as he moves into this next phase of his life.

Since we had so much activity going on in June, we now want to take a moment to send out a belated shout out of recognition to the momentous events that June brings - welcoming Summer, Father's Day, Juneteenth and Pride month!

Please check out our featured updated events below and visit our website for our recurring ones. If you have any questions, please call the Center.

We want to inform everyone that we are following current Maine CDC masking guidelines which say, if you are in a larger group of people please,"Mask if you're asked."

If you have any questions, need assistance or just want to say hi, please feel free to call us at the Center at 207-664-0339 or email us at info@bethwrightcancercenter.org

All the Best,

The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center Board of Directors has picked the new Executive Director to take the place of Michael Reisman, who served the organization for the last 18 years. As of July 1, Angela Fochesato started her job as the new director of the Center.

Angela’s transition to the Beth Wright Center is anticipated to be a smooth one as she has been affiliated with the Center through her previous position as a Cancer Patient Navigator for Washington County through Healthy Acadia and in affiliation with the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center for the past 5 years.

In addition to her experience at Healthy Acadia, she has acquired training in cancer patient analytical terminology, data collection and management through the George Washington University Cancer Institute. She has served as CDC Down East Public Health Council as the Board Chair, on the Board of Trustee for Northern Light-Eastern Maine Medical Center, and as Member of the Maine Cancer Foundation.

Outside of the health care and social services arena, Angela has 25 years of experience in nonprofit and for-profit management and has served as past president and board member of the Machias Bay Chamber of Commerce.

Thank You Michael Reisman!

Thank you so much Michael for all of your service over the last 18 years. The legacy that you have left the Center with is “It takes a Village,” and you are right! It really does take people from all corners of the community to move the world and make things happen. Thank you for teaching us that and for your warm and welcoming greetings to all you have served. Have a blast living your dream during your retirement! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Check out more photos here.
