Welcome Clean Cities Georgia!
A warm welcome to our newest member, Clean Cities Georgia! Our friends and partners at Clean Cities Georgia are also celebrating their 25 th year of designation. They promote clean air and energy for the 10.5 million people in the state.

During their 25 years, Clean Cities Georgia has directly reached over 125,000 people through their initiatives to raise awareness about alternative fuels and vehicles. They have contributed to the reduction of nearly 350,000 tons of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and saved over 100 million gallons of gasoline. By working with their partners from 2011 through 2018, they installed 1500 alternative fuel stations across Georgia. They're responsible for reducing NOx emissions in Georgia to the tune of 1.5 million pounds over the past three years.

Clean Cities Georgia projects include the successful implementation of CNG fueling stations, landfill gas-to-CNG conversions, and the re-powering of 35 diesel ground support equipment to all-electric drive systems at the busiest airport in the country, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Coalition Comments
Thank you to those that participated in our VW Settlement Survey last month! Your responses helped inform the Southeast Florida Clean Cities Coalition public comment that was submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FLDEP) on August 16th, 2019. Our public comments include the following points:

  1. We advocated for the use of a more accurate emissions measurement tool.
  2. We requested that FDEP adjust the estimated price of electric buses to current market rates.
  3. We advocated for the expansion of the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) program.
  4. We proposed using more accurate population data.
  5. Finally, we requested information on when applications will be accepted.

We encourage all Southeast Florida Clean Cities Coalition members and stakeholders to stay tuned for announcements about listening sessions related to VW Settlement funding. We want to hear from fleet managers and directors, mechanics, sustainability and resilience professionals, and bus operators about your experiences with alternative fuel vehicles, and how you’d like to make your fleets greener.
