Distinguished Young Women is the largest scholarship program in America for high school girls. The Brookfield program (combined with Elm Grove) celebrated its 20th anniversary in January 2024. The program promotes the Be Your Best Self mission: Be Healthy, Be Ambitious, Be Studious, Be Involved, and Be Responsible. Scholarships are awarded in the areas of Scholastics, Interview, Fitness, Self Expression, and Talent. We welcome community members to volunteer as committee members, judges, and mock interview panel members. MS Run the US is a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and funds for those living with multiple sclerosis (MS) - to provide hope, to aid those living with disability from the disease, and to support research to stop it. One unique way we do this is by hosting America's Longest Relay Run from Los Angeles to New York City, which is inclusive of 21 hand-selected athletes that take on the challenge of running six marathons in six days on thier own and fundraising $10,000 each. The organization is headquartered in Hartland and routes the 15th segment of its cross-country relay through Milwaukee each July.
