When you find out a friend is coming to visit you go through predictable stages: Anticipation - planning activities, meals, excursions, hoping to fill every moment with memory-making fun. Excitement - your friend finally arrives and you start your whirlwind of activities. Exhaustion - you've been staying up late, eating too much, drinking too much. Stress - the heap of laundry in the corner has grown to the size of the Indian River Inlet Bridge, mail is stacked up on your desk, the responsibilities you've been ignoring now loom large. Guilt - you kinda want your routine back, you kinda want your house back, you'd never say it but you kinda want your guest to leave.
Summer though, is the perfect visitor. With summer you have the anticipation and the excitement. And you might get exhausted but it is the good exhaustion from being outside in the sun and water all day. The long days and warm nights melt the stress of being cooped up all winter. The only guilt is forgetting to reapply your sunscreen.
So...welcome Summer! Please never leave!
We can't wait to see you on the water!
