Pastor Trudy's Message
God needed another angel. We don't know what to say when someone has a loss, especially of someone young. So we might say something like this. As many things intended to be comforting, it might stir feelings of anger or confusion at the kind of God who needs the people we love when we need them, too! It also speaks to an understanding of angels that is more cultural, think 'Touched by an Angel' or 'It's a Wonderful Life', than Biblical. We will ponder together a promise more powerful than TV angels...and more hopeful.
Holy and Mighty God, sometimes things just don't make sense. When we are confused, guide us through Your Word to see the power of Your presence and promises. In Jesus' name, Amen.
