Pastor Trudy's Message
"Grieving Thomas"
by Lauren Wright Pittman
A Sanctified Art LLC |
When the Unimaginable has Happened
Check out the accompanying artwork. The name of the artwork is "Grieving Thomas." Thank you to the artist for giving us more space than the more common 'Doubting Thomas' gives us. This weekend we will move around in this space together to find how faith and doubts open us to Jesus' work in new ways.

God, You invite us to question, demand, and wonder about Your work in the world. Then You question, demand, and wonder how we will join it. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Sometimes when I say the Creed I find myself wondering if I really believe all of it? Is that okay??? A friend told me that her mother said there was part of the Apostles Creed she never said. If you want to get your kids to listen carefully to the Creed, tell them this! The reason we say the Creed together is so that we can carry each other through our seasons of struggles. On any given Sunday, different people may be struggling with different things— this is part of our faith. The Creed gives encouragement that I'm not in this alone, but that generations of the faithful are walking with me...and speaking words that are beyond my own ability to completely understand.
Sign up for Sunday Worship!
