Hello, Upper Valley!
This summer, JAM gathered 100+ local crew, interns, cast, and background players to shoot on location across the Upper Valley. We completed principal photography on our very first feature film, Valley Transit, now in the edit room. This was also JAM's first Summer Feature Film Intensive, a real-world filmmaking mentorship program for 15 college and high school students. Thank you to all who contributed – it truly took a Valley. We'll let you know when it's ready for the silver screen.
Now, after taking a break to rest and refresh, JAM's weekly highlights newsletter is back. An archival treasure appeared out of nowhere. Last month, a beat-up VHS tape from 1997 showed up in our cable operations room. Senior Producer Chico set out to digitize it. Inside was a recording of the founders of CATV (now known as JAM) discussing the year 1983, when the idea of an Upper Valley public access TV station was first conceived.
The video’s introduction is cut off, so we were only able to identify Dr. Jim Armstrong on the left, an unnamed teenage interviewer, Willie ___ second to right, and Joe ___ on the right. Does anyone recognize the panelists? If so, email us at info@uvjam.org.
