We grow stronger and achieve together!

The Massachusetts Parent Teachers Association extends a heartfelt welcome to all parents, educators and all community members as we embark on another wonderful and inspiring school year! This journey is not just about the students; it’s about us coming together as a vibrant community to ensure that our children thrive in a supportive environment. We truly believe that it is for them, and we need you to join us in this mission. Together, we can create a learning environment where our children are not only happy and healthy but also are always being inspired to be curious and delight in their learning.

Let us together make this year a remarkable one for our

children and students !

A strong Message regarding Bullying from our Advocacy Chair and MA PTA Board member... Marina Youssef

Children, Adolescents and Adults are bullied at school because they are perceived as different, such as, due to appearance, social skills, or identity, which can make them seem like easy targets for those who want to feel powerful, popular, or have jealousy issues.

Bullying is a learned behavior, and factors like witnessing aggression at home, a lack of empathy, or an environment which allows bullying can also contribute to why children and Adolescents become bullies.

It is important that we all recognize this behavior and have zero tolerance for this behavior. We need to know how and why and then how to help our Children and Adolescents who are victims.

Donna Grady, MA PTA HSW Chairperson Health, Safety, and Wellness Committee is sharing with you! Be sure to read all information!

Help Meet the Needs of Bereaved Students

One in twelve children in the U.S. will experience the death of a parent or sibling by age 18, yet the needs of these youth are often overlooked. Seeing the demand for greater support for bereaved youth and the caring adults who seek to support them, the New York Life Foundation has been working since 2008 to understand and meet unaddressed needs of communities across the country.

Seeking to meet children where they already receive support, New York Life Foundation championed the Grief-Sensitive Schools Initiative, a nationwide program to provide educators with the tools and understanding to meet the needs of bereaved students. This tier 1 support model equips schools and youth-serving nonprofit organizations with practical tools, training and resources to build grief-informed, compassionate environments for all students.

The Grief-Sensitive Schools Initiative not only provides directly to educators, but it also provides a $500 grant to schools and organizations to support their continued education and resource development. Joining the Grief-Sensitive Schools Initiative unlocks a series of tools for school communities, strengthening bereavement support where it matters most.
