Catholic Campus Ministry extends a warm welcome to all students as we begin a new academic year at WCU. It's great to see so many faces on campus (even if we can only see them from the nose up)! The circumstances we begin this semester under are new to all of us, but God is the same, now and forever, and he continues to reach out to us in each of our particular circumstances.
The gospel for this Sunday is an unusual one -- Jesus calls a Canaanite woman a dog! -- but, as I explain in this week's reflection, it illustrates for us the need to make the universal truths of the Catholic faith particular in our own lives; something I challenge all students to do during their time on campus, and something which Catholic Campus Ministry is here to help with.
Please look over this week's schedule below. It includes our first "Mass on the Grass" this Sunday and first "CCM Connect!" live stream on Wednesday night. Our small group Bible studies will begin the second week of the semester.
If you have not done so already, please be sure to follow us on all our social media (we are on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter) to receive the latest updates. And I invite all students, new and returning, to drop by CCM to say hello and to spend some time in the chapel in prayer. Please be sure you review and abide by our COVID-19 protocols. You may schedule a meeting with me (in person or online) at this link.
In Christ's Peace,
