Greetings IFHE US Members,

This is Rachel Schichtl- the outgoing Director of Communication and I wanted to send an email to "wrap up" this IFHE World Congress. It was my first one and it was one of the best conferences I've been to. I wanted to share a photo and share a message that Janine Duncan- Congress Co-Chair asked me to send along to our members- as she noted that "all of our colleagues had a hand in this Congress".

Please mark your calendar for June 24th-29th, 2024 for the next Congress that will be held in Ireland.

Above is a photo of the IFHE World Congress Council. It was a great council meeting! Please see the message below from a Family and Consumer Sciences Education major that was able to attend the Congress. I hope it inspires you all to keep doing what you are doing, and inspiring others in our profession.

Dear IFHE Team,

Thank you very much for the chance to be able to attend the 2022 IFHE Conference! There was much preparation, work, and love put into making this conference a success. I know that I can't fully understand how much work had been put forth to make it come to fruition. Due to the inability to write a hand-written thank you note to every member of your team, I ask that you send this to anyone and everyone who helped. :)

I am a student from Brigham Young University-Idaho, majoring in Family Consumer Science Education. I was blessed to be able to attend the conference and consequently learned many things. One major lesson that I learned is to have pride and passion for Home Economists worldwide! Sometimes it is easy to feel like we don't make enough of a difference, but in reality, we are doing enough if we are doing all that we can do! Choosing to have passion for those things that we love and care for makes a better world for us and future generations.

I am a Home Economist! I have never before said that, and I am grateful for this new enlightenment. As someone starting their profession, it was a great opportunity to be able to see others who have paved the way and who courageously press forward towards helping more individuals, families, and communities from around the world. The Learning Day on the Go made the whole week worth it! I loved being able to go into the city to see the Food Bank. I learned many empowering lessons that I will be bringing home in the form of ideas and confidence! Your countless hours of work did not go unnoticed; in fact, I'm beyond grateful for your service because it led me to learn and become a better professional.

Thank you,

Aubrey Thuernagle
