For the  parents and families of St. Therese Chinese Catholic School

Dear New St. Therese Families,

I want to extend a warm welcome to all parents and families new to our St. Therese School community! I hope you are having a wonderful summer so far!

Our summer programming began June 24th, and it has been a pleasure meeting many of your children as they get to know their fellow students and begin preparing for a strong start to the 2019-2020 school year.

One way that you can also prepare for the new school year is to read these parent newsletters carefully and to regularly check into the School Websitewhich has information included in this newsletter, and covers many more important topics as well. Note that at the beginning of the school year, each parent will receive a unique login for the school website to access information that is available to current families only.

I also encourage you to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and WeChat for fun and informative posts throughout the year.

We will be sending regular newsletters throughout the summer as we approach the new school year.  We hope that you find the information provided in these newsletters to be useful and enjoyable for your student and family.

Today's newsletter includes some of the general information needed to prepare for the new school year. I f you have a question that you do not see addressed in these newsletters or on the website, please do not hesitate to contact the school office at 312-326-2837.

I am very excited to welcome everyone for the new school year in August and get to know all of our students. It's going to be a great year!

Ms. Lisa Deborah Oi

PS - If your plans for the coming school year have changed and you no longer wish to receive these emails, please simply unsubscribe from this email and you will be removed from our parent newsletter lists. Parents may also register additional or different emails for these purposes here.
School Calendar

School starts on  Tuesday, August 27th for all students at both campuses. Our Early Childhood students ( Prekindergarten, Junior Kindergarten, and Kindergarten)  will start with a half day, beginning at 8:00am and dismissing at 11:30am.

Students in grades 1st through 8th will have a full day - from 7:40am to 3:20pm.

Please refer to the  school website calendar  for the latest dates and times for school year activities and events. Please note that while the two campuses will be following the same overall school calendar, there will be some events and dates that will differ between campuses for logistical purposes. When these dates apply only to one of our campuses, it is noted as such on the calendar.

For your convenience, please see the Calendar Highlights for each campus in the links below:
Early Childhood Parent Orientation

Parents of students in Prekindergarten, Junior Kindergarten, and Kindergarten are required to attend the Early Childhood Parent Orientation on Tuesday, August 27th. This orientation will help parents learn what to expect, including an overview of what your child's day looks like, nap time needs and routines,  lunch and snack details, and other important topics.

Early Childhood Uniforms
Students in PreKindergarten, Junior Kindergarten, and Kindergarten will be required to follow the Early Childhood Dress Code. Given how young children can easily soil their clothing, parents are strongly encouraged to purchase at least three sets. Every item of clothing should be labeled with your child's name.

Uniform gym clothes must be worn on gym days, but can be worn during the week as well. The gym uniform is a St. Therese T-shirt, St. Therese shorts or sweat pants, and the St. Therese sweatshirt.    Refer to the Early Childhood Dress Code for more details

Uniforms for Students in Grades 1st through 8th
St. Therese School requires that all students in Grades 1 - 8 be in school uniform at all times (apart from designated Dress-Down Days). Please refer to the detailed 2019-2020 School Dress Code for the full detailed description of the uniform code.

Our uniform provider is Martinelli's, located at 3517 95th St, Evergreen Park, IL 60805. They may be reached at or at (708) 425-6287 with any questions.

School Supplies

We know many parents like to begin gathering items for the School Supply List over the summer months. Check out the items we ask our families to provide based on grade level. Please note that  we ask our boy students to bring in the items identified during the first 2 weeks of school, and the girl students to bring in the items when school resumes from Christmas Break in January. This helps with storage of items in the classrooms.
School Uniform Exchange

Returning parents are encouraged to drop off clean, gently used uniforms to either campus office to be included in the  Uniform Exchange at the St. Therese Campus. The Uniform Exchange will run July 8th through July 31st (or as long as items last).

All items will be free for parents at both campuses.

We will also be selling School Spirit Wear at these time - come and get geared up for the 2019-2020 School Year!
