Apple Bus Company announces the hiring of Christina Lust as the new Transportation Director serving the Ray-Pec School District.
She comes to Apple Bus from Fort Leavenworth School District, where she was Director of Transportation, Buildings, and Grounds for the 2020-2021 school year. Lust will supervise all aspects of student transportation for Apple Bus in direct service of the Ray-Pec School District.
“I'm pleased to join the Apple Bus team,” Lust said. "The opportunity to serve the students and community of a school district such as Ray-Pec is one I could not pass up. I look forward to many prosperous years of partnership with the district and the community that supports Ray-Pec so impressively."
Before her work with the Fort Leavenworth School District, Lust served as Director of Transportation for Basehor-Linwood School district from 2017 to 2020. She also worked in the medical field as an office manager for two major surgery centers in Johnson County, Kansas, from 2011 to 2017.
Mike Oyster, the founder of Apple Bus Company, said he is happy to welcome Christina to Apple Bus Company. “My having attended elementary school in the Ray-Pec district made the selection of a new transportation director especially important to me. I believe Christina is the ideal person to fill that role."
Christina originally hails from Plano, Texas. She moved to the greater Kansas City area in 2005 and relocated to Belton this spring. She has five children. Her two youngest children attend Ray-Pec High School.
Ray-Pec Assistant Superintendent of Operations Dr. Bryan Pettengill said he is also happy to welcome Christina to the transportation team. "Christina comes to us with a wealth of experiences and strong organizational skills," Pettengill said. "She is a good communicator and should work well with the schools and community to ensure safe and dependable transportation for all Ray-Pec students.
