Join me in welcoming our new board officers and congratulating our board members on their recent reappointments. On September 21, 2020, the City council of the City of Redwood City voted to reappoint three incumbent commissioners.

Commissioners Richard Claire, Ralph A. Garcia and Lorianna Kastrop will continue to lead the Port, along with current board members Richard Dodge and R. Simms Duncan, making key decision on priorities, strategies, budget and operations.

Our board officers for the year will be:
  • Chair – Lorianna Kastrop
  • Vice Chair – Simms Duncan
  • Secretary – Dick Dodge

Our Board of Port Commissioners is the foundation of the Port. It is with their dedicated service and leadership that the Port continues to thrive as an economic engine for the region, offering waterfront recreation opportunities and serving the Silicon Valley community and beyond.
Warm regards,
Kristine A. Zortman
Executive Director, Port of Redwood City
Signs of Movement

Though the global economy has seen a slowing of cargo movement, there are signs of increased movement this fall.  For the first quarter of this fiscal year we have seen nearly 600,000 metric tons of cargo pass through the Port. This amount sets us on a good trajectory for the upcoming year. You can keep up with our monthly tonnage totals and vessel movement on our website at redwoodcityport.com/tonnagevesselreports

About the Port - Family Style
The Redwood City Parks and Art Foundation may not be able to host their traditional events this year – but they are making the most of it! The Port is a sponsor of their special: Family Camp-In/Campout Halloween Style @Home Edition! The event will embrace backyard camping and the indoor camping experience, too. There will be a live show with traditional elements such as a sing-a-long, guided craft activity, story time, and a star party with an astronomer! Plus, special videos will help families learn about organization’s like the Port. Check out our new video, created for this special occasion!
Waterfront Art
Did you know October is National Arts & Humanities Month? We love arts and culture on the waterfront and have both permanent installations and temporary events that help celebrate the humanities. We are currently hosting the Zoppe Circus and encourage everyone to participate in this unique performance opportunity.

We also invite you to take a socially distanced walk along the waterfront to see all of our public art. This handy map will help you want to feature all the public art the Port offers and encourage people to view the art and of course, the masterpiece Mother Nature created in our beautiful waterfront itself! All of our public art can be found on our interactive map at: www.redwoodcityport.com/waterrecreation
