WELCOME OUR NEW SEMINARIAN, CRISTIAN VERGARA
who will join us at Holy Faith on Wednesday, May 27th.
|
|
My name is Cristian Vergara, I am originally from Colombia and I am a seminarian for the Diocese of St. Augustine. I just concluded my philosophy studies, and God willing, this coming year I will start first Theology in St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary. I have no words to describe how blessed I feel about coming to Holy Faith. Having the possibility of spending this summer with all of you will be an amazing opportunity to grow as a person and as a future priest as well. I pray the Lord and his Holy Mother bless each one of you and bless this journey that we are about to start together. Please remember me and all the seminarians in your prayers as we continue saying yes to God. May the Lord bless you, and never forget that God is always calling us to accept his love. You all will be in my prayers!
Sincerely,
C
ristian Vergara

For UPDATED INFORMATION ABOUT RESUMING MASSES AT HOLY FAITH be sure to read the bulletin, and check all our media outlets, especially your email as that seems to be the best way to communicate with the most people.
The results to our survey was extrmemly helpful and we truly appreciate how so many of you shared your feelings. We understand those who are not ready to return to the Church and those who are ready and we by no means are trying to influence anyone's decision. Your health, your safety and your peace are most important. May the Holy Spirit guide all into making the right decision for them and may God protect us all. Please know that if you need to contact anyone on staff that we are here for you to assist with any questions and concerns. We addressed many of the common questions. Make sure to review the documents below, if you haven't.
Before the first Mass next week you will hear from us again as we are monitoring all necessary steps, etc, needed to protect everyone as much as we can and want to keep everyone informed. If you have acquantances not using electronic media, please give them a call and fill them in. Call us if they need a call as well. We have connected with many but with so many members it's not easy and some may be missed. Please know that we love and care for each of you. We continue to pray for all of our members, families and friends.

If you are ready to come to Mass, please help us count and prepare by siging up for one of the upcoming Masses. This is temporary to help us with our planning. Please know that this is just a program to help us get a count. Even though it says ticket, there are no tickets but we appreciate all who can let us know in advance of their intent to attend a certain Mass. Also, if you do not want to sign up using the program, just give us a call, leave your family name and how many will attend with you at which Mass and we will add you in. Keep in mind that it will be first come first in. We are also livestreaming our services beginning next week so Holy Faith members who remain home can watch our live Mass and participate with our church family. Thank you all for understanding the complexity of trying to do this as organized as we can. God Bless you.

I
rish priests were the mainstay of the Diocese of St. Augustine for many decades. In the early part of the 20
th
century, Bishop William Kenny ordained a newly arrived Irish seminarian, Patrick J. “P.J.” Bresnahan. Though he served in many capacities during his long tenure with the diocese, one of the most interesting was his service as a missionary to non-Catholics. He wrote a book about his adventures, Seeing Florida with a Priest, published in 1937.
