Dear Chamber Members and Community of Commerce,
As we step into 2026, I am honored to serve as Chair of the San Jose Chamber of Commerce in this milestone year—our 140th anniversary. This moment marks both a transition in leadership and a shift from reflection to action.
In last week’s newsletter you heard about the Chamber’s accomplishments, momentum, and the extraordinary opportunities ahead for San Jose. My role now is to focus us on what comes next—and what it will take to succeed.
2026 will be a year that rewards preparation and participation. With global events bringing unprecedented attention to our region, the Chamber’s responsibility is clear: to ensure San Jose’s business community is organized, informed, and positioned to benefit. That work does not happen passively. It requires an engaged membership, visible leadership, and sustained investment.
This year, I ask you to be intentional in how you engage with the Chamber:
-
Join or renew your membership to strengthen the unified voice of business
-
Invest in the Chamber by sponsoring the Leaders & Legacy Dinner on February 26, 2026, helping secure the organization’s next chapter
-
Show up—attend events, participate in committees, and help shape the policy and economic conversations that matter to your business
Having served on the Board for the past five years, I’ve seen how much more effective the Chamber becomes when members lean in. The Chamber is not a passive benefit—it is a platform. The value comes from participation.
I want to thank Rob Lindo for his leadership as Chair and his stewardship during a period of renewal. I am grateful to Leah Toeniskoetter for her steady, strategic leadership as President & CEO, and to the ongoing and new Board of Directors and Chamber team whose work makes this organization effective every day.
I look forward to working alongside you in a year defined not just by opportunity—but by action.
Warm regards,
Ed Davis
