New Location Grand Opening!

Our second location is opening up in Orem! Classes will begin on January 10th. Community classes will be held at noon and 5:30pm Monday through Thursday.

Our grand opening party will be held on Wednesday, January 5th at 4:30pm. See you there!

Did you know that our Nutrition Pillar Lead and Registered Dietician offers individual nutrition coaching? He can help you learn how to use nutrition to support your recovery, improve your relationship with food, learn how to use food as fuel for activity and improve your overall health.

COMMUNITY SERVICE PILLAR

January's Service Project: 2022 Pit Count

The January 2022 Homeless Point-in-Time (PIT) Count in Salt Lake County will take place the mornings of Thursday, January 27th through Saturday, January 29th, 2022 from 4:00 am-6:00 am. The purpose of the PIT Count is to gain a deeper understanding of how many individuals are experiencing unsheltered homelessness on a given night. Our goal is to count and interview every person experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake County. We need your help to accomplish this goal!

Groups of volunteers will be formed and assigned to a census tract in Salt Lake County. On the mornings of the PIT, volunteer groups will go to their assigned tract and count and interview every individual they encounter experiencing homelessness. An app will be used to track the locations of where these individuals are observed and to conduct and record survey responses. Virtual training sessions will be provided for volunteers and cover topics such as the use of the app and the survey, a trauma-informed approach, racial equity, youth homelessness, and more. In addition, there will be a mandatory training the week before the PIT that will give an overview of PIT Count best practices for approaching and interacting with individuals experiencing homelessness as well as effective techniques to conduct the survey.

We need a large number of volunteers to accomplish this Point-in-Time Count. We encourage you to form teams of 3 to 4 people with your friends, family, and coworkers and sign up together! If you are interested in volunteering for the January PIT Count 2022, please click here to sign up.
