The Natural Gardener, via Zoom
With the coming of spring, A Gift of Art is hosting an online talk with Sher Leetooze titled "The Natural Gardener". The talk takes place on Zoom on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 2 PM to 3 PM.

The talk discusses pollinators such as bees, butterflies and birds and what they can do for your garden. It will also discuss companion planting and how best to care for your garden.

Member and Non-Member cost: $5.00

Sher Leetooze will return for another talk on May 10th entitled "Edible and Medicinal Plants" Stay tuned for more information.
Look at the Nose on That Guy! - Caricature with Mike Goldstein

A fun exploratory and hands-on workshop where you will learn how to draw and exaggerate the distinctive and peculiar features of a person while still retaining a recognizable resemblance.

Zentangle® Cross Country – On Zoom
April 4 – 25, 2022
Mondays. 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. 4-week session. On Zoom.

Perfect for any level, no experience required.

Take a cross-country road trip and tangle wonky cottages and a barn along the way. Over 4 weeks we will tangle three tiles to create this whimsical Zentangle® inspired landscape.

Watercolour with a Touch of Fresco, with Tony Cooper – in studio
April 5 – 26, 2022
Tuesdays, 1:00 – 4:00 pm. 4-week session.

This course will introduce and cover the full use of watercolour on paper in the first weeks with an option to make small frescos on white cement in the later lessons.

Suitable for intermediate and advanced painters.

Basic watercolour supplies are required. Please contact the Gallery if you have questions.

Oil Painting with Tony Cooper – in studio
April 5 – 26, 2022

Tuesdays, 5:30 – 8:30 pm.
4-week session.

In a relaxed and open atmosphere, we will develop the skills necessary to quickly lay in an oil sketch. We will use a photo source at first in the studio and hopefully paint on-site in the local area if we are ready.

Suitable for intermediate and advanced painters.
Basic oil painting supplies are required. Please contact the Gallery if you have questions.

Featured Artist - Todd Treemer
Todd Tremeer
Masters Fine Art / Bachelor of Education

Todd Tremeer is a noted painter, printmaker and freelance art curator. He graduated from OCAD and its Florence, Italy program. Todd Tremeer has taught art and art history at various schools, colleges, and universities worldwide. Todd's work has been exhibited across Canada and featured in the United States, Italy, France and China.

Todd paints with oils and watercolours and makes etchings and linocuts. Todd is also experienced in miniatures.

Todd's art oscillates between history and landscape themes. Close observation of his subject is crucial in Todd's work, whether it is painting outdoors or from miniature models.

You can find Todd's historically-themed murals throughout downtown Bowmanville.

Awards and grants Todd Tremeer has been awarded include the Joseph Plaskett Painting Prize (2007), Best Watercolourist: Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition (2008, 2009, 2011), numerous Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council grants.
