Welcome to our first Alterrus newsletter. Alterrus Systems Inc. is an environmentally responsible, publicly traded company (CNSX:ASI & OTCQB:ASIUF) located in Vancouver, Canada. Alterrus has created a sustainable vertical growing system that grows fresh, nutritious leafy green vegetables in urban environments where they are to be consumed. Using a fraction of the resources needed for traditional field agriculture, this patent pending technology generates substantially higher yields than conventional farming and was selected by TIME Magazine as one of the World's Greatest Inventions.

Our Name
Alterrus System Inc. is the new name of the former company, Valcent Products Inc. We changed the name last June to reflect the company's new direction. The name Alterrus was derived from three distinct words: Alternative. Terra. Us. "Alternative Terra" speaks authentically to the fact that this is an alternative to traditional soil (terra) farming. "Us" is inclusive, meaning society as a whole, whose populations will reap the benefits of freshly grown nutritious produce for generations to come.

VertiCrop technology represents a paradigm shift in farming and food production by providing up to 20 times the yield of field crops, while using only a mere 8% of the water required for land farming. Local Garden
Local Garden is North America's first ever VertiCrop farm in the heart of Vancouver. Local Garden can harvest up to 3,500 pounds of fresh, healthy greens every week. No matter what the weather or the season. We only use Non-GMO seeds and we don't use any chemical pesticides or herbicides. And since it's grown and sold locally, it's fresher, tastes better, and retains more vitamins, minerals and nutrients than imported produce that has spent 4-5 days on a truck before reaching store shelves. We have been on an exciting and challenging journey over the past two plus years. We have accomplished much and are extremely proud of our achievements. We have begun to create great value in our Local Garden brand - so much so that virtually everything we produce sells out.
