- Join us for our next metaphysical service on Sunday October 3rd at 10am. Join us for community, prayer, contemplation, healing and messaging. And following the service is our monthly ISD Board of Directors meeting.

No, actually, in person- We wanna see your face (its been a long COVID separation!) at the new Lotus Center at the home of Tom Landon.
The Oasis & the gardens are beautiful and ready for you.
Come for casual conversation, light lunch, laughter, and library time with ISD friends and members, and the Pastor, Diana Friedell. We will be POOLSIDE in the good weather, bring your suit if you’d like, and a dish to pass if possible. A required class for our upcoming Intuitive Practitioner Program and for those in the Healing Certification Program (the class is free for those enrolled in the Healing Certification program)
Meditation is a self-care practice that allows us to quiet our minds, calm our physical bodies, and go within to reach a heightened level of awareness. This three-part class looks at the art, the history, the science, and the magic of meditation from three unique perspectives.
Join Rev. Diana, Rev. Story, and Rev. Renee as they lead you on a journey towards discovering the benefits and joys of meditation for yourself.
Whether you are a beginner looking to develop a deeper connection to yourself and your own divinity, or whether you are an experienced meditator looking for tips to strengthen your existing practices, this class is for you.

Chakras form our energy anatomy. When clear of blockages, they keep us healthy and balanced. In this two-part class JoAnn Wormuth, Master Energy Healer, leads us to discover the meaning and purpose of each chakra. We will learn to address & clear any impurities in our own energy system. There will be energy exercises & as well as self-discovery and healing meditations

No outside king, champion, or sorcerer need be penned as the hero

ASTROLOGY FORCAST (Sept 30 - Oct 6)
As the week begins there are 6 planets stationing retrograde. That creates a great deal of "soul searching" energy. You have, likely, danced with your shadow for months now. Since everyone has, it begs the question: What is my mine to deal with, what belongs to someone else, or some other time, and what is ready to be released back to love? October features 4 of the 6 retrograde planets resuming their forward motion again. This, along with the Autumn harvest season, offers us a wonderful opportunity to move forward in a very significant way.
The first planet to resume forward motion is Pluto, which rules the underworld. Pluto takes 248 years to make one trip around the Zodiac... It is, therefore, the planet that influences entire generations and changes "world view paradigms."
The Soul shadow will have its day, but that day is drawing to a close if you choose. The fact that Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008, and has been retrograde since April, invites massive change. Add to that the fact that Saturn rules Capricorn, which encourages responsibility, structure, maturity, etc.
Our collective hard work will move us forward, if that is the individual's choice, on Oct 6th when Pluto resumes its forward motion on the same day as the New Moon in Libra.
We are currently benefiting from Libra/Harvest season. The qualities of balance, fairness, justice, reaping the rewards, take center stage.
The star chart for the 6th is a lovely good luck charm that we can all use to draw a deep restoring breath. The Sun, Moon, and Mars are all conjunct in Libra and they form a Trine with Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius. This formation is called a Double Grand Trine. Together all these forces provide an opportunity to move your life forward in a way that is of great benefit to you. Also, with the "worldly" influences of Pluto and Aquarius, the positive results can encompass many of the human race.
There is a technique you have available to assist you in making all the best, most loving choices. It can add great creator energy to your life on this special day. Place your hand on your sternum. That is the location of your God Cell, High Heart Center, and Cave of Creation. Breathe deeply and picture great, golden light pouring forth from the inside. The God Source is as close as your own Heart!

Footprints discovered in New Mexico seem to suggest that people may have arrived in the Americas during the middle of the last ice age, much earlier than previously thought. Read the Science article that details what researchers have found Here.
- Are scientists using crystals to solve mysteries of the universe? This Scientist Study article talks about a ground-breaking detector, built by researchers at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Dark Matter Physics and the University of Western Australia, that uses quartz crystal to capture high-frequency gravitational waves. In it’s first 153 days of operation it picked up two events not previously recorded.
- Are you having a hard time relaxing and releasing stress throughout your day? Does it seem like your ‘lower self’ is getting triggered on a regular basis? Maybe This article from Medium.com will help. A simple approach to slowly learning to step back and stop fighting against the energy flow.

Just a reminder that we are continuing our Prayer Warriors group, every day at 5pm we pause to pray and send our healing energies where they are most needed right now
Each day at 5 PM EST, we will pause for about 10 minutes and meditate and pray with the intention of sending healing energy to all.
You do not have to be present each day. Requests for healing or suggestions should be submitted to our Healing Program director, Jo Ann Wormuth at the below ISD website link:

What is the Institute for Spiritual Development?
It's both a metaphysical church and an educational center originally founded 40 yrs ago in Sparta, NJ. With the belief that all paths lead us Home, ISD is dedicated to helping each spirit walk their path with courage and joy.
We stand for each individual’s right to seek their own personal Truth, as they respect the same right for others. We honor the sacred texts of all traditions of the Light.
The Oneonta NY chapter of ISD was Lovingly created by Rev. Diana Friedell & her sister Rev. Sue Landon. We are now led by a powerful leadership team, and executive board.
ISD is a spiritual community that focuses on healing and intuitive connection, and the joy of finding the spirit connection within rather than being told how it should or could be experienced.
We welcome those who want to belong to a spiritual group of like-minded people, in which you can explore and find your own path in a community of love and support.
There are classes, services, events, and a sense of community and fellowship. Energy healing and intuitive messages are delivered as a regular part of the worship service. Classes offer many tools which will help you on your life path, and the community we are creating together is one of openness and acceptance, and the ability to adapt with change and growth.
