She was tired. Tired of living. After 5 failed marriages, she gave up on the idea of true love. She lived with her boyfriend, never thinking she could be loved again.
On her way to the water well that Jacob dug, (the Starbucks of her day) she met a guy. This guy did not judge her. He listened. He actually had a gift for her. The gift of a new life.
She was awakened. That spark she felt deep inside her became red hot as she ran to town. Soon everyone was there at the well and a new fire was lit. The whole community was awakened. (John 4:1-30)
Awakening Cafe was inspired by the life of Jesus coupled with the modern day success of Starbucks. They have proved that people around the world still need a place to gather with friends and be a community.
It is what a water well looks like in the 21st century.
