BUSPH Graduate Student Life New Student Mailer I

Welcome and hello from Graduate Student Life! We are so excited to have you join our community and we can't wait to meet you! The GSL Office is here to make your transition to SPH as smooth as possible. You'll be hearing from us through a series of new student mailings aimed to:

  • provide useful information to help you prepare for the upcoming semester
  • provide opportunities to get a head start on public health skills
  • highlight events & opportunities to be engaged in the SPH community

Please note that this first mailer primarily focuses on your amazing peers in the MS in Applied Biostatistics and MS in Population Health Research programs. These programs start in the summer. Subsequent mailers will include more general information on topics like housing, transportation, and financial aid.

Feel free to email us at sphgsl@bu.edu with any questions, comments, or concerns you encounter as you begin your journey at BUSPH.

Public Health Post is an online population health magazine at the Boston University School of Public Health. We also offer a paid, yearlong writing apprenticeship for a few MPH students.

Learn more in 60 seconds with Public Health Post.

Subscribe to our weekly roundup of stories to stay informed on hot topics in public health before you arrive on campus.

And follow us on Twitter and Instagram.

Every day we feature new articles about the state of the health of the population. We invite policymakers, journalists, academics, and practitioners to share their work in ways that can influence health on a local, national, and global scale. Our editors, working with graduate student Public Health Post Fellows, present health statistics, research summaries, interviews with important health thinkers, and easy-to-understand data graphics to start new conversations about health. We join and drive the national dialogue on public health.

Fellowship applications will be available in September 2022, with an October 2022 deadline. Accepted fellows will be notified in early December 2022. The fellowship runs from February 1, 2023 through January 31, 2024. Applicants must not be planning to graduate from the MPH program until January 2024 or later.
