Our commitment to better serve our clients shows as we add friend and colleague Benjamin A. Hurwitz as a CPA to our team. Adding a CPA enables us to provide an additional level of expertise for individuals and businesses in areas of accounting, tax planning and compliance.
A CPA is an accountant who has passed the CPA exam and met all other statutory and licensing requirements of a state to be certified by that state. In addition to preparing and reviewing financial statements, CPAs also prepare tax returns for businesses and individuals, and represent taxpayers before the IRS for audits and other matters.
AJM&A already has a skilled team in its Taxation group. Adding Hurwitz will assist with current cases and add new skills to improve client service. “Ben Hurwitz allows us to offer our clients additional expertise as well as increased staffing as we continue to add new clients,” said Anthony J. Madonia. “We believe that a clients’ needs, no matter how big or small, deserve the personal attention of experienced and qualified professionals and we provide that.”
Hurwitz has over 30 years of experience in large accounting firms, served as managing director and partner at CPA firms, and worked as Chief Financial Officer for Midwest Truck and Auto Parts as a brief overview of his experience. Ben Hurwitz has built a comprehensive volume of tax and business skills that he will utilize with AJM&A clients.

Ben Hurwitz has been married for more than 30 years and has three grown children. Originally from Iowa, he comes from a long line of University of Iowa Hawkeyes (as well as indoctrinating his son to the club). Rumor has it he may bleed black and gold. When not in the office, Ben is with his family most likely biking or watching old black and white movies.
