We are delighted to welcome David M. Kenney, Jr.—who prefers to be called DM—as Perry Methodist Church’s interim organist and accompanist.


DM is an organ student of Dr. Jack Mitchener at Mercer University, who also happens to be his favorite teacher! He began his organ studies with Jennifer McPherson Mulhern on September 11, 2019. That same day, he saw Air Force One in flight—a startling and deeply moving moment that he has never forgotten.

DM performed in the 2022 and 2023 Young Artists Showcase recitals at Methuen Memorial Music Hall. His 2022 performance was hosted by J. Michael Barone for his radio program Pipedreams, which began in 1982. DM also brings several years of experience serving churches through music.

Along with his musical studies and an appreciation for unequal temperament, DM loves dark chocolate, spelunking, sitcoms, cats, and culinary experimentation.

At Perry Methodist, DM will play for Sunday worship and accompany the Sanctuary Choir during Wednesday rehearsals and Sunday services. 

We are grateful that God has brought this gifted and fascinating musician to Perry Methodist, and we hope you will join us in giving DM a very warm welcome!

A note about greeting DM: DM does not shake hands. Please welcome him with a smile, a wave, or a warm word instead.

Our Wednesday Youth activities kicked off! We have a great prayer breakfast, thank you to Caden and Garrison for providing the morning devotional for our youth.

Our worship and small groups began and it was awesome! We started our series on Choices. We talked about two big truths, the choices we make impact our life and we have the power of choice.
