EduCODE 2020 Daily News


Attendees are required to register before their first class.  Once registered, you do not need to register again for any other day(s).
You do have to sign the class roster for each session.

Jessica Franklin is the EduCode on-site ICC registrar. She can assist you with registration, class changes, CEU certificates, replacement identification badges, etc. Jessica is stationed at the Registration table in the Expo area.

ID Badges 

Attendees MUST wear their EduCode identification badge for entry to all EduCode classes, luncheon venues and social events.

Lunch Tickets

Your EduCode track host (or teacher) will give you a lunch ticket each day before lunch.

The tickets are redeemable at either the Orlean's Medley Buffet or other food venues in the hotel. You MUST have your EduCode badge to enter the food venues in the hotel. (TGIF is not participating.)

Tickets are non-transferable.

On behalf of the Southern Nevada Chapter of the International Code Council, I welcome you to the 2020 Educode Conference and Expo - our 23rd annual conference - conducted in Las Vegas at the Orleans Hotel and Casino Conference Center. 

We look forward to your participation in this educational and fun week. Once again, EduCode offers 98 class sessions, covering a variety of topics. In addition to the classroom experience, we also offer certification testing. Just sign up at the ICC booth, pay and test. It's that easy.  
 
We have planned three evening networking events for your enjoyment. First, join us on Tuesday evening for the Student Appreciation Event. On Wednesday, plan to attend the special networking event with your fellow students, instructors and trade show partners. And, again this year, "Pin City Bowling," is scheduled for Thursday in the Orleans Bowling Center.
 
I encourage you to spend time at the Tradeshow/Expo. We are excited to have more than 20 vendors back again this year. These vendors provide you with the latest information and developments in the industry. Please try to visit each one during your time at the conference.
 
Refreshments are available at the trade show throughout the day, and don't forget to join us for the daily raffle drawings conducted after lunch in the Expo ballroom.

General Information
  • Morning classes start at 7:30 a.m.; Afternoon classes start at 1 p.m.
     
  • The ICC Book Store will be open all week in the trade show room. The bookstore stocks most code years, including the 2018 edition. 
     
  • Refreshments will be served in the morning and afternoon in the trade show room.
  • Look for people wearing a "Host" badge. It's our goal to make your stay enjoyable. Please feel free to ask any questions of our chapter hosts.
Personal Security
Please keep all your personal belongings, books, handout material etc with you at all times. Classrooms are not secure. EduCode is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
 
WI-Fi Security
Open network Wi-Fi at conference centers and hotels can be dangerous. We rely on you to use common sense, not to log into sensitive sites or share private info over Wi-Fi. 

Class Handouts 
The class materials will be provided electronically and will be given to only registered class participants. If you have an issue opening the documents, please let an EduCode Host know promptly.   
 
Registration Desk Hours
Monday - Friday     6:30 a.m.. - 1 p.m..

Registration is located on the second level in the EduCode trade show room. Staff and volunteers are available to answer questions.  
 
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) 
Students will be asked to sign in at the beginning of the class; next, in the early afternoon after lunch for the full-day classes. For the half-day classes, students will be asked to sign in first when they enter and again when the class ends. Then, the student will be given their certificate for CEUs. Please check the spelling on your certificate.

Social Events

Join in the fun at the social and networking events scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening.

" Student Appreciation Night" - Tuesday, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at OSS, across from the Medley Buffet. Show the bartender your EduCode badge and the beer and wine are on us! There will be plenty of fun, give-aways and surprises at this party. You must wear your EduCode badge for admission.

Our vendor partners present the " Networking Social" from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, in the EduCode Expo Ballroom. The event is for all students, instructors, vendors, vendor clients, invited guests and significant others. Don't miss this social event.

And finally, plan to sign up for the "Pin City Bowling" gathering from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday at the Orleans Bowling Center. Sign up at the SN-ICC Chapter booth in the hallway outside the Expo area.
