A quarterly e-newsletter providing information about infrastructure projects coordinated by Horry County, including those within the RIDE Program.

New Website Available to Track RIDE Progress

Collections for RIDE 4 commenced on May 1, 2025, as the RIDE 3 collection period came to an end on April 30, 2025.

While the RIDE 3 tax collection period expired, work continues to make the improvements under that plan come to fruition.

As RIDE 4 begins, Horry County is also enhancing the online resources available to those we serve.

This month, a new website was launched to track the progress of all RIDE projects.

The site was designed to ensure transparency with taxpayers and educate the community on all initiatives included in the 25-year improvement plan.

This website will grow to include other road projects in the county, not just those under the RIDE Program.

The new website can be accessed here.

Significant features of this online tool include, but are not limited to:

  • Current Project Search
  • Past Project Search
  • Future Project Search
  • Interactive Project Map
  • A summary of the processes followed to build a road
  • Information on upcoming community meetings
  • Ability to submit feedback

The video tutorial below will help you navigate the new website.

Road Talks - Letters from County Leaders

Johnny Gardner, County Council Chairman

Dear Neighbors,

It is with much excitement that I introduce you to Future in Focus. This quarterly newsletter is one way in which our County team will provide periodic updates on key infrastructure improvements and capital projects across Horry County.

Thanks to an affirmative vote by residents of this very community, the fourth edition of our RIDE (Road Improvement and Development Effort) Program was approved.

Over the course of 25 years, the $6 billion RIDE 4 program will transform the transportation network of today to meet the needs of tomorrow.

As we work our way from concept to reality for each of the more than 28 initial projects, as well as dozens others still to be defined in the future, I hope this publication will serve as a trusted source for updates and information. I encourage you to stay active and informed in our community.

Together, through concerted effort and a shared commitment to excellence, we will connect people and places across Horry County for years to come.

Yours always,

Johnny Gardner

Horry County Council Chairman
