LIGHT A CANDLE today to pray for Our Lady's intercession

Happy Easter from the Basilica Shrine

Christ is risen! Alleluia! From all of us at the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal and the Basilica Shrine, we wish you all a happy and blessed Easter season. Please enjoy this joyful hymn from Kate, one of the many students from Mount Saint Joseph Academy and The DePaul Catholic School who participated in our 2024 Lenten video series, Journey of the Heart. We thank them for offering their invaluable perspectives, as well as our adult lay and religious for their personal reflections.

If you’d like to review the series or watch it for the first time, visit our website for links to all the episodes and for additional prayer resources to help you in your perpetual journey of the heart.

Lord, in this season of renewal, we pray in thanksgiving for the many blessings You have given us. May our words and deeds serve as transformative reminders of Your love. Amen.

TV Station Features Our Historic Carillon Bells

Visitors of the Basilica Shrine and the community of Germantown have long known the joy of listening to hymns performed live by Janet Tebbel on our century-old carillon bells. Now, thanks to a local PBS affiliate, the Basilica Shrine's bells can be enjoyed throughout the Philadelphia region and around the world.

On Good Friday, WHYY-TV featured the towering musical instrument in a segment of the "You Oughta Know" program. There are 47 bells arranged within the Basilica Shrine's bell tower, most of which were manufactured before the turn of the 20th century.

Visit WHYY.org to watch the program. The segment on the bells begins at the 11:45 mark of the broadcast.

SPRING SCHEDULE >

Spring is always a special time at the Basilica Shrine and 2024 is no different.

In April, we will enjoy the beautiful music of the La Salle University Choir and celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Shrine's elevation to Basilica status.

We will then welcome the Month of Mary with special observances of the Ascension of Our Lord, the Solemnity of St. Louise, and Mother's Day -- all leading up to our annual May Procession.

We invite all the faithful to attend these special events and more. Visit MiraculousMedal.org for information.

Honor Mary By Sending Her Your Prayer Intentions

Need a helping hand from our Blessed Mother? Whether it's spiritual, physical, or emotional, Mary and Jesus are here for you.

As we look ahead to the Month of Mary, honor her by sending your prayer intentions for placement at her altar.

Your gesture of love will be celebrated during our annual May Procession on May 20th at the Basilica Shrine.

Let's draw closer to Mary by offering your prayer intentions. Together, we can experience the power of her intercession.

Memorialize a Loved One This Paschal Season

As we celebrate the Resurrection of Our Lord, let us remember those who are no longer here on Earth but remain with us forever in spirit. Let us pray to be reunited with them one day in the presence of the Lord.

Memorialize someone you love this Paschal season by dedicating a Remembrance Candle at the Basilica Shrine. Each candle will remain lit in the recipient's name for a full year.

Immerse Yourself in Song at Saturday Vigil Mass

Sacred music is an essential component of the Eucharistic celebration at the Basilica Shrine. Attend our Vigil Mass each Saturday at 4 p.m. (ET) as we immerse ourselves in song and the splendor of Our Lady. Confessions are offered at 3:30 p.m.

“It is hard to find words to convey the joy of the soul’s loving encounter with God, yet fine music is able to express something of the mystery of his love for us and ours for him.” -- Pope Benedict XVI
