Jasree Peralta announced as ECCT
Canon for Mission Communications & Media
Jasree Peralta has been hired by the Episcopal Church in Connecticut as its next Canon for Mission Communication & Media. Her desk will be located at The Commons in Meriden and she begins work August 20.

Jasree graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a B.S. in communication, minoring in journalism.

She spent her early career working in academic and broadcast media environments, focusing on technical assistance and strategic content creation. Desiring more cause-driven work, she transitioned over to the nonprofit sector where she most recently worked as Communication Specialist for the National Diaper Bank Network.

There, she developed and implemented their digital communications strategy, significantly enhancing their online presence and native content which contributed to membership value, donor growth, and overall awareness of “diaper need” and its prevalence in the United States.

Jasree is a CT native and currently resides in Cheshire. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities, DIY home projects, and spending time with her two recently adopted kittens.

"Coming over to ECCT feels like a very natural transition for me," she said, "and I’m beyond excited to be able to bring my passion and use my talents to fully participate in God’s mission, as well as meet, listen and learn from the wider church community."

"I am so excited about Jasree joining the team at The Commons," said the Rt. Rev. Ian T. Douglas, Bishop Diocesan. " Her background as a communicator in academic, broadcast, and national not-for-profit organizations, combined with her youth, social media and video acumen, will help The Episcopal Church in Connecticut communicate the good news of Jesus Christ in creative ways across the church, and to new communities and age groups here in Connecticut and beyond.”
