The Georgetown Lombardi Arts and Humanities program collaborated with the DC Chapter of the Recording Academy to bring The Day That Music Cares to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. The Day That Music Cares brings the music community together to volunteer in in charities, local organizations, and causes across the country.
At MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, The Day Music Cares volunteers performed in various areas of the hospital, including the Verstandig Pavilion, to the delight of patients, staff, and caregivers.
President of the DC Chapter of the Recording Academy, Tamara Wellons discusses the origins of The Day That Music Cares in a Hospital Setting:
