Dear Kappa Sigma Parents,
On behalf of the Kappa Sigma Tau Family, welcome to the Kappa Sigma Parents Association!
Your son is now a member of a prestigious group of young men who pledge to support each other as brothers for the rest of their lives. Chartered on September 18, 1884, the Tau Chapter of Kappa Sigma is one of the three oldest fraternities on The University of Texas Campus. It has many deep and meaningful traditions as a result. Moreover, the legacy of the Tau Chapter is strong, with an active alumni association that includes Tito Beverage, creator of the global brand, Tito's Vodka. The late Dr. Denton Cooley and Frank Erwin were also renowned Kappa Sig legends of UT Austin.
As parents of a dues-paying Kappa Sig, you are automatically members of the Kappa Sigma Parents Association. Parents receive communications through Tau eNews notices sent by the Alumni Association for the Tau Chapter.
We eagerly look forward to our upcoming Parrothead Paradise Parents' Weekend on November 8th and 9th. You should have received a Save the Date for this event. The invitation and details will be sent out soon. We can't wait for you to be a part of this fantastic, fun-filled weekend. Don't forget to reserve your hotel rooms early!
Looking ahead to Spring, the Parents' Association will hold two additional events: a Moms' Weekend and a Dads' Weekend. The Alumni Association will host the annual Denton Cooley Tau Classic Golf Tournament to which parents will also be invited. Event organizers will send save-the-date notices later this fall. We welcome volunteers for any of our Kappa Sig Events.
We will soon send out Volunteer sign-up forms for any parents who would like to help with Parents' Weekend. Also, please contact us if you have items to donate to the Kappa Sig Silent Auction. The silent auction will be held during Parents' Weekend, and the proceeds will go to the Tau Chapter for items they need in the House and Lodge.
We're thrilled to be planning a wonderful upcoming year for our Kappa Sig family, and we can't wait for you to join us!
