Meet the Tutor: Roza
Roza will be teaching the Saturday Afternoon SAT Class
ROZA recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College. She is now working in privatized research as a research associate, collaborating with one of the top labs in New York City. Roza is currently studying for her MCAT and aspiring to attend medical school to advocate for access to healthcare as a universal human right.
Roza graduated from Macaulay, majoring in Biology, specializing in Biotechnology, and a minor in film studies. As a part of the Macaulay Honors Program, Roza received a full academic scholarship for all four years of college, complementary dorm residential housing, a MacBook Air laptop, and a scholarship towards an opportunity fund to pursue various incredible study-abroad programs and NYC-paid internships.
Roza graduated from the Brooklyn Latin School, a specialized high school, and received the IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma. In Brooklyn Latin, she took HL (Higher Level) Biology, Math, and English while also taking SL (Standard Level) Latin, American/ European History, and Visual Art/ Art History. Throughout high school, Roza maintained a 3.9/4.0 GPA. She was a member of her high school’s debate team and the cheerleading squad. She was also a member of Brooklyn Latin’s honors society, which she made for her above 3.5 cumulative grade point average and record of positive character, leadership, and service.
Roza was a writer and editor for her high school’s newspaper. She had numerous pieces of her writing published in the Latineer, her high school’s newspaper. She has also volunteered at the Queens Hospital Center throughout all four years of her high school career. Roza shadowed doctors during a hospital internship between her freshmen and sophomore year summers. Roza also received the Advanced Regents Diploma.
During undergrad- Roza was involved with the Macaulay STEM Society. Roza is fluent in Bengali. A fun fact is that Roza took her SHSAT in the 9th grade after immigrating to the United States and scored high enough for Stuyvesant but was too nervous about placing it as her top choice. She chose Brooklyn Latin and is happy she graduated with an IB diploma from there.
Roza was a student at Kweller Prep throughout much of 11th and 12th grade. She took SAT and Regents prep classes with us. She scored 1500/1600 as a super score. During the pandemic, Roza has worked remotely with a publishing firm as a writing contributor.
Roza enjoys working with high school-age children at Kweller Prep. She is a fun, friendly, patient, kind, lighthearted, and sometimes playful teacher. For fun, Roza enjoys watching movies and learning about film production. She finds old German movies and Alfred Hitchcock-directed movies interesting.

Additionally, Catherine was an active member and captain of the varsity swim team, where she became the first female swimmer in school history to win city championship events and qualify to swim at the state championships. At the state level, Catherine consistently placed within the top 10 for 3 years. Throughout her high school career, Catherine received several awards, including the Louisa Wingate Underhill Award nominated by the PSAL, USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, PSAL Most Outstanding Rookie, and MVP of the Girls’ Varsity Swim Team.
