Dear Friends,

We are thrilled to introduce you to Loen Amer, our Director of Teen and Community Engagement.  Loen will be leading our seventh-grade program at Kulanu, as well as our Waxman Youth House (8th grade and up) programs. Loen, a Long Island native, comes to us with a wealth of experience with Jewish teen education and programming. Most recently, she served as Director of Experiential Learning for Children and Teens at Congregation Bet Torah in Mount Kisco, New York, where she significantly expanded and deepened teen participation. Loen joins Temple Israel’s senior staff team and, in addition to her work with teens, will take part in engaging congregants of all ages.

There will be opportunities throughout the fall for people to meet and get acquainted with Loen, starting with the Welcome Back BBQ on Sunday, September 11th from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.  We hope you will join us in extending a warm welcome to Loen.

Sincerely,
Rabbi Howard Stecker
Rabbi Amy Roth, Director of Congregational Schools
