This month, we recognize
Founders MCC, Los Angeles, CA, USA
Rev. Keith Mozingo, Senior Pastor
Bam Noriega, Assistant Pastor
This month we celebrated the extraordinary vision of a church that celebrates God’s love and acceptance of ALL. On October 6, 1968, Rev. Troy held the very first worship service in the living room of his home—a humble beginning that sparked a movement of faith, inclusion, and unconditional love.
Founders Metropolitan Community Church (Founders MCC) was born from Rev. Troy’s dream, and today, that dream continues to flourish as the church lives out his vision of sharing God’s love with the world.
Through its longstanding commitment to community outreach, social justice, and sharing the love of Jesus, Founders MCC continues to shine as a beacon of hope—not only within its local community but across the globe.
With a heart for serving others, Founders MCC embraces the vision of “Church Outside the Walls,” reaching beyond the sanctuary to meet people where they are. Through food banks, Trans Unity Groups, scholarships, and social justice advocacy, the church puts faith into action and demonstrates what it means to love our neighbors.
This same spirit of love, inclusion, and service led to the launch of an outreach to the Latino community in Los Angeles in 1992, known as La Fundadora Iglesia de la Comunidad Metropolitana, Los Ángeles (ICMLA)—extending the message of hope and God’s unconditional love to even more people.
As we honor Rev. Troy Perry’s legacy, we highlight Founders MCC and celebrate their vision that continues to transform lives, uplift the marginalized, and remind us that God’s love knows no boundaries, excludes no one, and welcomes ALL!
May we continue to live the dream, carry the vision forward, and be the Church, wherever love is needed!
