Breakout School Recognition
Congratulations to Trickum Middle School for being selected as one of the Breakout Middle Schools for 2019 by the Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals (GASSP) and for being recognized as a top performing middle school in the state of Georgia.

GASSP has a yearly program to recognize outstanding middle schools throughout the state. The criteria used mirrors the NASSP model of Breakthrough Schools and is titled by GASSP as the Breakout Middle Schools. The criteria the schools must meet and demonstrate through evidence are: collaborative leadership, personalization and curriculum, instruction and assessment. The award was accepted by Mr. Queen during the recent GASSP Fall Conference in Savannah, Georgia.
Congratulations to 3 of our teachers who were awarded with the Walton EMC EmPOWERment Grant. Ms. Hardin accepted the grant on behalf of Ms. Thiers and the grant is for all of our 7th Grade LA teachers. Mr. Wells and Ms. Killian also accepted the grant. Way to go!!!!
Another successful Relay for Life Volleyball game day in the books! Thank you to everyone for the support, enthusiasm, time, energy, patience and willingness to help with the volleyball games.

We have an initial number of just over $4,900 raised for Relay for Life!  This puts us at about $7,000 for the year already. Special thank you to our Connections teachers, our ticket sellers all last week, concessions helpers, faculty players, and our crowd control people! And lastly, thank you to our administrators for continuing to support Relay and allowing us to have a day like Friday.

Teachers defeated students at the annual Relay for Life volleyball game, but when we all have fun for a good cause everybody wins!!
NO outside food is permitted in the cafeteria or in the lobby for students per our school cafeteria rules. Parents are welcome to come and eat inside the cafeteria with their student but need to plan to purchase a cafeteria lunch or bring a lunch from home and sit with their student inside the cafeteria. Our lobby here at Trickum does not accommodate room for students or parents to eat lunch outside the cafeteria, and we need this area available for all guests. Thank you for your understanding!
Final Exams will begin on Tuesday, December 17th and will go through Friday, December 20th.

12/17 - LA
12/18 - SC
12/19 - MA

H ave you signed up for the Parent Portal?
GCPS’ Parent Portal serves as a valuable tool and resource for information about your child and his or her academic career. In order to update your parent contact information and other critical school information, you will need a parent portal account. If you have not requested a parent portal account, please do so using the attached form. Bring the completed form to school with your ID to verify your identity and complete the process.

Parents: Please take the time to set up a MyPaymentsPlus account for your student. It is a very important tool to have during the school year. The features include Meals & AutoPay, Student Account Management, Products & Events and Digital Forms. Not only will you be able to add money to the account for your child's lunch, but you can also pay for special activities during the year and also take care of signing documents and forms directly online.

Please click on the link below to sign up!

Keep an eye on your account!

Don't forget to keep an eye on your child's breakfast/lunch account over at MyPaymentsPlus. You can make life easier by setting up alerts when the balance runs low. Just look for the "Low Balance Notification" box, towards the top of the screen.

MPP also has a neat feature where you can use the "Auto Pay" button to automatically add a dollar amount of your choosing when your balance gets low.
