Welcome to Monday Mail!
From the Principal
Greetings!

Well here it is, the final Monday Mail of 2019. It is has been a wonderful semester and I'm so proud of the accomplishments of our students and staff thus far. As we begin final exams tomorrow, please be sure to check the calendar on the Trickum website to help keep your student prepared.

On a calendar note, we have 7th & 8th grade guitar performances tonight and orchestra tomorrow night. Finally, our basketball teams have their final games before the break on Thursday at Parkview HS versus McConnell MS. Please continue to come out and support our basketball teams and cheerleading squad this season.

As we begin our holiday break next week, I would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season and I hope that each of you have a wonderful, restful break full of family and happiness. See you all in 2020!
Trickum Middle School was represented well at Symphonic Winds’ performance last Thursday at the UGA Middle School Band Festival in front of a packed Hodgson Hall.

Congratulations to all of these students for a job well done at MidFest! Mr. Davidson and Ms. Matthews are so proud of Symphonic Winds and a shout out goes to them for their hard work getting the students ready for the performance!
Congratulations Trickum Tigerbots
On Saturday Trickum hosted the FIRST LEGO league regional robotics tournament. 27 teams came to compete in core values, robot design, research, and robot performance. Jessica Han, Kaeden Nichols, Matthew Ionescu, Aswin Krithivasan, Bethany Nebiyou, Caleb Sutton, Dileep Kunnath, Mekai Vazquez, Andrew Guo, and Oliver DeVoe represented Trickum at this competition. Our own tigerbots placed first in robot performance and took home the champions award. The Trickum tigerbots will advance to the super qualifier in January at Paul Duke Stem High School.

Congratulations to the Trickum tigerbots!! And good luck at the tournament in January!
Congratulations Trickum MathCounts Team
Congratulations to Trickum's MathCounts team for their great showing at the Math League Competition Saturday at Lakeside Middle School. The team finished in 3rd place overall with all students finishing in the top 20 individually in their respective grade levels. Competing members include: Matthew Xu, Steven Zhou, Rayna Chang, Jason Dong, Hanny Wu, Alicia Zheng, Nancy Wang, Lucy Dong and Sarah Wang. Additionally, Matthew finished as the third overall individual student. Great Job to all these mathletes!

NO outside food is permitted in the cafeteria or in the lobby for students per our school cafeteria rules. Parents are welcome to come and eat inside the cafeteria with their student but need to plan to purchase a cafeteria lunch or bring a lunch from home and sit with their student at the adult table inside the cafeteria. Our lobby here at Trickum does not accommodate room for students or parents to eat lunch outside the cafeteria, and we need this area available for all guests. Thank you for your understanding!

H ave you signed up for the Parent Portal?
GCPS’ Parent Portal serves as a valuable tool and resource for information about your child and his or her academic career. In order to update your parent contact information and other critical school information, you will need a parent portal account. If you have not requested a parent portal account, please do so using the attached form. Bring the completed form to school with your ID to verify your identity and complete the process.

Parents: Please take the time to set up a MyPaymentsPlus account for your student. It is a very important tool to have during the school year. The features include Meals & AutoPay, Student Account Management, Products & Events and Digital Forms. Not only will you be able to add money to the account for your child's lunch, but you can also pay for special activities during the year and also take care of signing documents and forms directly online.

Please click on the link below to sign up!

Keep an eye on your account!

Don't forget to keep an eye on your child's breakfast/lunch account over at MyPaymentsPlus. You can make life easier by setting up alerts when the balance runs low. Just look for the "Low Balance Notification" box, towards the top of the screen.

MPP also has a neat feature where you can use the "Auto Pay" button to automatically add a dollar amount of your choosing when your balance gets low.
