Greetings!
Today I am proud to announce that Trickum Middle School is being recognized by GASSP (Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals) as a 2019 Breakout Middle School at it's annual Fall Conference in Savannah, Georgia. This is great recognition for the hard work done daily by our students and teachers. More information regarding the application process can be found on the

Our basketball teams got off to a great start last week with wins by both teams over Grace Snell Middle School. The season continues this week against Bay Creek Middle School at Grayson HS. The girls tip off at 5pm with the boys to follow. Please continue to come out and support our basketball teams and cheerleading squad this season.

Both the Boys and Girls Basketball teams got off to a great start last Thursday for the very first game of the season for both teams as they beat out Grace Snell Middle at Parkview High School!!
The Boys beat the Grace Snell Comets 54-43. Scoring was led by Gicarri Harris, but Amari Shuler, Chasz Holmes, Emanuel Befekadu, Troy Craig, Anthony McFarlane, Zach Miniscalco, and Michael Carpenter also scored. The game was a true team effort.
The next game for both teams will be this Thursday, November 14th, against the Bay Creek Middle Rams, at Grayson High School!
Tickets are $3 for students, CASH ONLY, and can be purchased at the game.

The Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology Lottery Registration is Now Open!
The Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology is a unique high school that focuses on advanced and challenging studies in the fields of engineering, biosciences, and emerging technologies.
The GSMST lottery registration window opened on
Friday, 11/1 and it will remain open until January 24, 2020.
Parent meeting dates are 11/12/19, 12/5/19 and 1/9/20 at 7:00 PM at GSMST.
GSMST is now accepting registration applications for the 2020-2021 freshman class. Enrollment for the 9th grade class is open to all 8th grade students who are residents of the Gwinnett County school district attendance zone; who are successfully promoted to 9th grade by the end of spring semester 2020; and who successfully complete an 8th grade math curriculum that is a full unit of Carnegie-eligible Accelerated Algebra 1 or higher.

Parkview Youth and Middle School Wrestling 2019-2020

Boys and Girls Grades K-8 are eligible to participate.
**The first practice was Tuesday, October 22nd at Parkview High School, BUT YOU CAN STILL REGISTER YOUR CHILD. Come to one of the practices shown below and speak with one of the coaches to register. Make sure to print, fill out, and bring the registration form with you for your child. Registration deadline is December 20th.**
Beginners: (K-3) - Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-6:45 PM
Intermediate/Advanced (4-8) - Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-8:30 PM
Registration fee is $150 which includes MMA Fight Shorts, Compression Shirt, Singlet, and USA Wrestling Card.

GCPS’ Parent Portal serves as a valuable tool and resource for information about your child and his or her academic career.
In order to update your parent contact information and other critical school information, you will need a parent portal account. If you have not requested a parent portal account, please do so using the attached form. Bring the completed form to school with your ID to verify your identity and complete the process.

Parents: Please take the time to set up a MyPaymentsPlus account for your student. It is a very important tool to have during the school year. The features include Meals & AutoPay, Student Account Management, Products & Events and Digital Forms. Not only will you be able to add money to the account for your child's lunch, but you can also pay for special activities during the year and also take care of signing documents and forms directly online.
If you have not done so, please complete all orientation agreements in MyPaymentsPlus. These agreements are MANDATORY and must be completed immediately. Please click on the link below to sign up!

Keep an eye on your account!

Don't forget to keep an eye on your child's breakfast/lunch account over at
MyPaymentsPlus. You can make life easier by setting up alerts when the balance runs low. Just look for the "Low Balance Notification" box, towards the top of the screen.
MPP also has a neat feature where you can use the "Auto Pay" button to automatically add a dollar amount of your choosing when your balance gets low.

Did you know we get $.10 for each boxtop we collect? We have box top collection boxes located in each grade level's admin office. There is also a box in the media center. Save your Boxtops, bring them to school, drop them in one of the convenient boxes located in the school.
