Welcome to Monday Mail!
From the Principal
Greetings!

Well, we reach the end of another tremendously successful year at Trickum Middle School this Wednesday. For our parents of eight graders, I want to thank you for your contribution to the Trickum community and wish you and your child the best in high school next year. For all of our returning parents, that return will be here before you know it. In the meantime, please enjoy your summer break and the time with family. Be on the look out for our summer letter around mid-July with all the back to school information.

Please join us Wednesday for Activity Day by volunteering to assist PTSA. We could certainly use more help with supervision.

Please congratulate Malissa Chambry and Regina Matthews as our newest School Council Parent Representatives. Thank you to everyone who participated in the nomination and voting process.
REMINDER: As we approach the end of the school year, this is a reminder that students will NO longer be able to charge their meals. If a student does not have sufficient funds on their account now, they will receive an alternate meal until sufficient funds are applied to their account. In order to avoid this situation, we strongly encourage you to insure that your child has enough funds on their account through the last day of school, which is May 22nd.

Additionally, if your child has a negative balance, we kindly ask that all negative balances are paid no later than May 22nd.
ATTENTION: If your child has medicine in the school clinic...

ALL medicine MUST be picked up by May 22nd or it will be disposed of!
All lost and found items will be in the cafeteria starting Monday, May 20th and will be taken away Tuesday, May 28th. Please stop by the cafeteria and claim your lost items!
Calling all library books back to the Media Center
All library books are due back to the Media Center NOW . Fees for lost library books are $20.00 for hardcover, $10.00 for paperback. Activity Day privileges will be restricted if your Media account is not clear.
The summer reading lists for each grade level are now available. Please see the link below to review the list of books.

Each grade level must read 2 books during the summer!

Summer is almost here, and so is ACTIVITY DAY! Activity Day is a fun way to end the school year, and ALL students will participate. There will be a DJ and games, and for just $5, students will have access to inflatables, photo booths, snacks and drinks. Each grade will go to Activity Day during their Connections time on the last day of school, Wednesday, May 22nd.

REMINDER: All Media accounts must be clear in order for students to participate in Activity Day so make sure to return all library books or pay for any lost/misplaced books ASAP!

Activity Day is going to be a blast!
Enjoy your Connections time outside!

Summer Health and PE for rising 9th graders
Does your student need to free up his or her schedule to allow for band, theater, chorus, strings, or athletics?? If you answered yes, then you should consider allowing your student to take Health and Introduction to Lifetime Fitness (PE) during the summer of 2019 through the Parkview Community School located at Parkview High School. Click here for all the details or visit the TMS website or call Parkview Community School at 770-806-3796.
Keep an eye on your account!

Don't forget to keep an eye on your child's breakfast/lunch account over at MyPaymentsPlus. You can make life easier by setting up alerts when the balance runs low. Just look for the "Low Balance Notification" box, towards the top of the screen.

MPP also has a neat feature where you can use the "Auto Pay" button to automatically add a dollar amount of your choosing when your balance gets low.
Calling all BOXTOPS for EDUCATION Keep them coming.
Fundraising couldn't be easier
Did you know we get $.10 for each boxtop we collect? We have box top collection boxes located in each grade level's admin office. There is also a box in the media center. Save your Boxtops, bring them to school, drop them in one of the convenient boxes located in the school.   A super easy way for Trickum to earn money without spending an extra dime!
Interested in volunteering at Trickum? We have many opportunities to get involved: Activity Days, Color Run, PBIS Socials, Monthly Ticket Exchanges, Media Center, Box Tops, and more! Click here to see the options and to let us know where you would like to volunteer.

Thank you for supporting our school, our students and our community!
The community continues their support of our schools, students, and staff through generous grants. Read about it in the Communique.
